I know very little about F1, but if this guy is all he's cracked up to be, you would think Ferrari would offer him the moon. Any thoughts?
I would love to see that happen, but McLaren will do what they have to to keep him. Plus it was his childhood dream to drive for McLaren.
Never if he's smart...Ferrari lacks the team management/leader to build a great car right now...Ron Dennis is a great team leader that is capable of leading a WDC and WCC team for at least another decade....
Then it's time to change I've read some gossip, that Ferrari offers him more money or something like this.
I would LOVE to see Lewis at the Scuderia, but I don't see Ron Dennis allowing anything of that sort happening until Lewis grows white hair.
Ron Dennis will not let him go. Its not like he is a driver at a back marker team. He is already with the top 2 or 3. (best right now). Alonso left Renault because htey weren't even sure they would be in F1. McLaren, BMW and Ferrari don't typically lose drivers if they don't want too. The way this is going McLaren will pay all they money.

I think Alonso or even MS back at Ferrari is a more likely scenario than Lewis. Best choice would be Nico Rosberg, who I still think is underrated.
Wishful thinking by the British press. Hamilton knows his role and should be grateful to Ron Dennis for the opportunity. If he were to jump ship, I would not want to be the team that he jumps to, he will likely leave as soon as he gets upset. Prima-donna in the making if the stories from Monaco are true. He is either a master at interviewing, or actually a nice kid. I pick the latter. Hamilton will be at McLaren for another 5 years, Todt will not allow Alonso to drive for Ferrari, Kimi will be around through 2008, minimum.
99% unlikely for Alonso or Schumacher, 50/50 for Rosberg. And I agree with you, he is very underrated.
doesnt Ron Dennis have over 10 years invested in this kid ? he would never let him go . honestly , Hamilton owes Dennis . he basically funded his karting and junior formula career .
If Hamilton continues to improve and achieve his full potential...it will be Ron Dennis that owes Hamilton.....cha-ching!
I'm thinking the 12th of NEVER, or thereabouts. McLaren won't let him go until someone equal or better becomes available.
The days of the broken contracts are about over. If Ferrari wants LH on their team before his contract is up, it would be cheaper to buy the team.
+1 I've seen a couple people post this, but it doens't make any sense to me. As is stands currently, he's the best option on the field. Hamilton may have more potential, but Alonso is much more experienced and that would come in handy for developing the car, a problem which Ferrari seems to have now.
