Some of you boys obviously have not been in a serious accident. It's a wake-up call from GOD & trust me, it's a humbling experience which you'll see life in a different light.

I've seen some horrifying images of corpses or what you can make up of them & you pray it will not happen to your loved ones.

Let's keep this thread on topic & remember this is Ferrarichat, dedicated to enthusiasts of the Cavallino Rampante with a little other exotics.

What do you guys know about the 575? It doesn't seems as successful (in nos) as the Testarossa here yet it's probably one of the best engineered & practical V12, they're so well built that I hear little of their problems. They've been successfully raced in many GT Class by private teams as well.

There were only 4 sold in Singapore. Most of the owners drive them quietly as a daily driver.
Great GT car but the shape is a bit dated now.

oh and another thing on the 575. There is a Superamerica running around in Singapore too.
The 575 is a nice practical car. Howeveer it seriously needs the GTC package. The package is about another $30-70k depending on what options you pick. Options include: suspension upgrade, ecu reprograming, GTC exhaust, 3 piece rims and ccm brakes.

    Lung at Changi Airport..again!

    Hi Jon,

Thanks for the great pics from your trip. Talking about Fcars, what are the opionions on the 360 spyder from a driving and practical ownership points of view? I've read that she is generally reliable, easy to drive when compared to the 355 and easier to maintain (engine stays in when changing belts) with no known problems.

    Over to you guys....

Hi Audi, I heard the black Diablo from your colleague is in the export zone? Which means there's only one other Diablo left here.

I've only briefly driven a 355 & never even quite in a 360 but the spider's roof left a deep impression in me when I first saw a HS guy operating the roof in a motorshow many years ago, the way it folds up & the metal cover opens to receive it is pure magic. With the right exhaust, the V8 sounds magical, especially when you hear it changing gears from far & disappearing. Few other cars match that & a 355 can sound better, more high pitch F1 like according to others.

I would love to have a spider & it can be driven daily with a good boot or rather bonnet space. It can clear many carparks. Now any cars can be driven daily, you just have to plan ahead where to park. If you can drive a 308, anything else is quite easy. I used to do grocery with my 348 & it is the lowest car I've had but I did crack the lip few times :(

That said, the cabin in 360 melts as well, that black sticker rubbery plastic thing & some cars cost 5 figures for a major job. So, maintenance can be daunting. I just hope there's enough 360s left by 2010.

I see more of the Malaysian ones than locals for sure. At least one red car was doing pretty well on the track last year but I didn't quite hear any roar in close encounter. Wonder how does the V12 sound.

Halo everyone... i saw a blue CLk DTM chasing the yellow Zonda yesterday nite along steven road to PIE Changi..its amazing to be between the two 'millions $' cars at the redlight junction near the PIE, left stood the DTM, right stood the Zonda... the exhaust note from the quad pipes on that Zonda was awesome..

any of you guys have other interests (apart from cars)? like jet skis, boats, flying, etc.?

personally, i love the water - jet skiing & boating.
& flying too - licenced as a PPL for over 25 years.
this is apart from other hobbies that take up way too much of my time.

    :)

Yup, he gave up the black raging bull for a........Toyota Wish! Maybe he had enough fun in these cars and wants a change, something relaxing to drive.

Was just thinking that the 360 has so little mention here and I reckon the topless one is quite pretty actually and like you said, relatively practical. One day we should meet for lunch and we can talk more. Off to Sydney tonite and you can sms or msg me if you're game to meet up end this week or next.

BTW anyone knows anything about the F1 shift in the 360s? Heard from a saleperson in Paris Fcar dealership that they eat clutches esp in traffic.

    Cheerio!

Yes, tested the car yesterday and the power gain is very obvious from 2800 up to 5000 rpm. But the exhaust is so loud and with a lot of cabin resonance. I hope it will mellow down after some carbon build up.

Yes the power is incredible! I just love driving the car in high rev. In fact, most of the time I am in 3rd gear and at most 4th gear.

Do you get a headache? I did for the first few weeks. It was the high pitch of the new-uncoated-uncarbonated steel exhaust that caused it. It dissappeared after a while.

Hmmm a lot of cabin resonance? Cabin resonance is usually caused by a lower pitch note in a cabin with less damping. Does the Spyder have more glass or less padding than say the coupe? I am wondering how much damping the roof provides. A squarer cabin may cause the resonant frequencies to bounce around more than a longish (i.e. saloon) cabin.

Becareful about the nite drives... I read in the ST today about some lady calling the police about 10 cars racing. The problem is even if a group is not racing but driving in a pack it just draws too much attention.

I am ok for lunch on Thurs or Friday if suits.

You are right about that, when I are not in the mood to drive fast I think I will get a headache. I love the sharp F1 sound of the downshift too. The sound of this exhaust is simply epic.

Yes sir. There's a meet @ 9pm onwards tonight @ Mike's place. Not the regular boys on board here but the usual faces. See you there if anyone's free.

I'm game for early morning Sunday drives as the air is cool, lesser traffic/pedestrains & TP don't really work till we're finished. No nagging women too :D Speaking of I think we should just head north & open up those Larinis+tubis. My tyres are really botak now so I'll take it easy for the moment.

Who's going for track day? Ani is taking bookings for hotel.

Max. I'm wishing I can settle down soon & get the PPL from Senai. Failed my airforce pilot course but that's a blessing in disguise ;) We have two other pilots on board here.

The boat thing will have to come much later & how's the deal? Tiong/rara?
