    Can anyone recommend a person for a Pre Purchase Inspection of a 77 308GTB in the NY/Long Island area?

    I second Berlinetta. I've know Doug for years. He's not cheap but he does great work.

    Steve Arena at Arena Motors knows everything there is to know about 308's. He has rebuilt Jawad's car about 150 times and has an amazing 308 of his own.

    I wish!! Actually, it's what happens when a friend drives your Ferrari. Now my good friend Tom (not Mark who has the GT4) wants a 308. He is interested in one located on Long Island and asked that I help him find a person to do a PPI.
    How are you doing?? Did you find your Lotus yet?? BTW, have you noticed the black 308 that back on eBay out of Arkansas? Tom is interested in that car as well. It looks like a real nice car, but strange how it's back up for sale. The last time on eBay the winning bid was around $25,000. Seems low for what appears to be a nice car.

    i would go with ferrari of long island or an authorized dealer. you might save a $1k but in the long run they will be responsible if the car is not what they checked out to be and they are an auth dealer

    sorry Joe, i have been busy the last few days.

    i have had a few Lambos, 3 Esprits and one Pantera deal all not go thru so far. i may just give up until winter, as thats when i like to buy cars. :(

    i am wondering if its not best to wait and see what happens with work and the Engineering job.

    I second the previous posters and highly recommend Doug Pirrone at Berlinetta Motorcars in Huntington. They have moved to a new location. Call the shop at 631-423-1010 for directions.

    I would try Alfa Auto Clinic, not because they are my friends but because they know there stuff, and are honest,they will tell you what the car needs,and can fix it, i have seen recently , they were fixing every thing from Testarossas to Diablos and the newer Ferraris that i don`t even know the model name yet,Canillo uses them for repairs so they might even know the car,Alfa Auto Clinic 526 Merrick RD. Baldwin NY 11510 you can ask for Giuseppe ., these guys are good people and have been in business for at least 25 years in the same location.
