So I'm sure most of you have heard about the Iphone and it's going to be a big one. It's going on sale at 6PM on June 29th. Now in regards to the apple's stock share, should you go all in large and wait, or should you stay in at what you have.

    Today's Apple Stock: http://finance.google.com/finance?q=AAPL

Anyone using any creative or just buying a few more shares?

When everyone was turning onto Apple, I hopped out. I have now shorted this stock, Amazon, and Netflix.

Tip #1- If you get a stock tip from a bartender about a stock you own, dump it.

I think Apple has provided a 1,600% return since 2003. The market is built on hype and Apple is too hyped up. My point being, once the hype comes, it goes. I have a strategy, but you'll have to pay me for it ;-).

    http://www.appleinsider.com/articles/07/06/13/no_iphone_for_business_account_customers_at_launch.html

    By AppleInsider Staff
    Published: 01:00 PM EST

When Apple launches iPhone later this month, customers with Cingular/AT&T business accounts may be forced to purchase the device as individuals through the carrier's retail channels, according to reports.

"I just spoke to a Cingular/AT&T business representative from the headquarters of the company (not a kiosk) and was told that iPhones will not be available for purchase by business account customers until further notice," said one AppleInsider reader.

Another, who spoke with his Cingular business account manager, was also told that he would not be able to buy iPhone via Cingular business channels and instead would need to purchase the handset through the carrier's retail channels.

"Furthermore, you can not use a normal business account -- only an account with individual responsibility," that reader said.

Thus far, it appears this stance by Apple and Cingular/ATT has not been put in writing and is instead being passed down verbally to business account managers by their superiors.

It also remains unclear whether the restriction is permanent, or just a temporary measure instated during the initial launch.

At its annual developers conference Monday, Apple announced that iPhone would go on sale at 6:00 p.m. on Friday June 29th. It's not certain whether the 6:00 p.m. time is Pacific time or regional.

Representatives for Apple did not respond to multiple inquiries seeking clarification.

Update: Another AppleInsider reader and AT&T business customer was told by a representative of the AT&T Business Division: "AT&T is not selling [iPhone] to business or to sponsorship accounts under a business; only retail consumers for the first few months. There is no ETA on the sale ban to business."

Errr, a fake iPhone maybe -- just as you see fake replica iPods.
But considering that the "killer feature" of the iPhone is having a full browser on there that supports the same conventions as the desktop browsers which allow for AJAX / web2.0 apps, you're probably never going to have a close enough "replica" to call it a fake iPhone or even an iPhone killer if it takes off (like the many iPod killers out there).

It's an interesting device and I think they'll put it off with a lot of success in the mass market -- if the prices can be normalized.

the iPhone falls between the Sidekick and True PDA phones.

business types will still want to keep their blackberrys and stuff, IMO, while IT professionals shouldn't even consider the iPhone. I'd like to have one, sure, but it won't do what I need it to do. The fact that I can connect through terminal services to manage my servers in a pinch is a great thing :)

The way Apple/Cingular handles the phone release is going to effect this stock big time. I have a feeling Cingular is going to be giving it in the ass to these customers who want the iPhone, since the demand is so huge.

I don't get it. Apple takes huge advantage of their customers, yet, people still buy their products. Not to mention, the iPhone is complete crap.

Apples had a heck of a run up already based on the iPhone hype... I think its already factored in.

My feeling is its going to spike upon release and then all the 'smart money' is going to short it.

Ive beena strict apple user since I was in high school in the late 80s.

I cant recall ever feeling taken advantage of by apple. Its not a perfect company but what one is...

I will agree that the Cingular deal and the $600 tag on the iPhone makes me want to wait a bit before jumping in..it also doesnt seem to be so revolutionary...but I bet its a heck of a lot user friendly than my treo

Right... releasing Core 1 Duo's without X86_64 support was a nice thing to do. They should've skipped that and gone straight for the Core 2 Duo which had the 64bit instruction set....

Most of Apple products are marked up 50%. I recall some "big shot" Apple executive saying "we charge a premium for our products because people are willing to pay that premium."

But then again, isn't that the way it is with most companies?

Duh, why are we on *Ferrari*chat again?

It's more than elitism though, the premium must be worth it for someone otherwise there wouldn't be a (okay, there would be a market, but not this large / expansive) market for the product.
