First off I would like to thank all the competent people on the forum who contribute so that people like myself can get issues resolved with minimal bs. Well after 12K miles on the clock my 97 decided it was time for me to get new headers. Hmmm sound familiar? Personally I believe that the early failure of my headers was due in part to the bypass system not operating correctly thereby creating alot of heat in the headers. Anyway I couldn't get the headers replaced fast enough because the ticking at start-up was driving me crazy. After much deliberation I finally decided on the Fabspeed headers ($2500) They utilize the F-1 collector that other vendors claim 10-15 hp gain. Another tough decision was to get them Jet-Hot coated ($260) because the headers just looked so damn good when I got them. With all new hardware (I lost count) from Daniel I was ready to go. Took me about a day and half of putzing around making sure everything was correct. I was very happy with the results. Seems I do have a little more bottom end now but that is only utilizing the butt-dyno. So really who knows. The exhaust note is real smooth now not blatty like before. Ah it's great to be on the road again.........Thanks

I am with you on the jet hot---wow they look pretty BEFORE the coating, but it is probably the best move in the long run...

It was a tough decision but my intial impressions are that it is cooler in the engine bay and it seems to cool down quicker when I shut it down. Thats good stuff when you live in the desert.

Hey Matt I live in Pahrump. Of course I spend most of my time sharing the sound of the Capristo with the fine folks in Vegas.
