OK, when it comes to cell phones, I will admit I am in the dark ages. I currently have a Tracfone (pay as you go plan) with an old Nokia 1100 for both myself and my wife and we don't use it all that often. I probably don't even go through 500 minutes/year. But, on numerous occasions, we have had difficulties trying to call each other, which has lead to lots of hassles. I suspect there are issues with both the calling plan, and the phones, which are a couple years old.

So, I'm thinking I need to get with the program. Don't know what's good out there (and reasonably cheap). I currently have a landline + internet through AT&T yahoo and they have a wireless family plan for about $69/month, + the purchase of a phone ($99 each). Includes 700 anytime minutes, plus unlimited phone to phone, etc. Have no idea if this is reasonable.

Any tips/suggestions for good phone plans?

    Thanks,
    Dom

Tadaaaaaaaa It's your Ferrarichat online Verizon Wireless sales rep:) Been working for them for two years now. Sounds like you don't need anything to complex. I'm on the other side of the country but I'm sure we got similar pricing over your way. Check into the LG VX 5200. Right now we have them 79.99 with a 50.00 mail in rebate and they are buy one get one free on a 2 year contract. You got a 30 day trial period to try them out so it's no loss if you hate them. Feel free to ask any questions if you get any. Take care. Matt

The best deal I've found is the plans where all incoming OR outgoing calls are free. If you take OR make a lot of calls, these plans are great!

I suggest to go with AT&T Wireless and never turn back. They pretty much have the best wireless service around, and they also have nice phones. They're reasonably cheap, but they're the only carrier with rollover. (If u dont use minutes, they "rollover" to use for the next month) They use a technology called GSM, which enables the use of SIM cards, that means that if u get bored with your phone, you can go on Ebay, etc and buy another GSM and pop the SIM in. Bam! You have your same cell phone number, just a different phone.
