I have had good luck in the past cleaning carpet with meguiars general purpose cleaner 1 to 10 dilution, a scrub brush and wet vac. Does not work as well as a hot water extractor, but a good alternative.

2005 with 18.9k on it. I used Meguiars APC (all purpose cleaner) 14:1. What I always do is wet the carpet first with a sprayer full of just regular warm water, then I spray the APC mixture down, scrub it, let it sit for 2 minutes, then extract with hot water. I also add a little fragrence to the extraction water just to give it that extra effect. :)

1996 Bmw 328, 135k. Don't know when the owner decided to loose the matts, but they were not there when it came to me and the carpet showed it.

Meguiars APC 1 to 9, Scrub brush on DA, removed with wet vac. Good setup

The carpet looks like hell and it looks like the steering wheel, gauge cluster and other items were Armorall'd {sp} that would be a fail in my books.

    And the pedals aren't clean.

I personally am not a fan of any interior dressings, other than something like Einzeitt Cockpit Premium, which is a non-petroleum based protectant, rather than a dressing. In cars like this having glossy or greasy interior components doesn't really seem fitting.

Good job cleaning the carpets though. Carpets are always a challenge, especially with lighter colors.

If you are unsuccessful in getting some stains out with just an APC dilution, you can always use a mix of Woolite and water. Works wonders.
