Good catch humbleboi. 2009 seems to be the right time for the model year switch over, both b/c it foots to Ferrari's traditional model cycle, and also b/c it will coincide with Lambo's new Gallardo facelift. Some interesting launches 12 months from now!

I saw that independently, and believe a sexier car / color combo has not yet been built! -

 

My understanding is that the Gallardo facelife is an 08 thing. The current "trend" of Ferrari has been to wait for the competition to launch before launching their own i.e. Gallardo - F430, SL -Pista.
I think ferrari will wait for the gallardo replacement before coming out with the F560 (i just made up the badge number)..which you pointed out could be in 2009.

 

I think previewed in 08 but launched towards the end as a MY09. Ferrari may wait another year given that they have their hands full with the Pista launch, and the 5 year standard model cycle won't be complete till 09, suggesting a new launch might come as a MY10.

My US dealer friends have confirmed that MY08 orders have already started to be taken, and other than some additional options (iPod ready, new rim designs, etc.) the MY08 Gallardo looks the same as before from the outside.

I think this was also confirmed by a thread in ********** where a user was discussing his MY08 order.

Melvin / Andy probably have the latest view - I'd be curious if it differs from the above.

 

i had a chat w mel last friday. He has not heard from factory about facelife, but did say there are new options for MY08 i.e. Cross stitch seats, etc.
We talk about gallardo facelift..what about its replacement? Any news on that?

heard that: the Pista will not b as raw as the CS in terms of interior finishing and yet it is faster than the 599 in fiorano.

The way with things at car dealerships are, they will withhold info till the absolute last min (when the local press mentions it)

1) They want to sell their floor stock
2) They want to have a continuos flow of sales
3) Simply they have an "idiot" running the marketing department

For dealerships, they are allocated a certain number of cars each year. Weather they can sell the allocation is not the manufacturer's problem

No replacment for your car till 2010

Facelift out this year, but for local market deliveries expect 1st quarter next year.

Well, for once I agree with CB

It's all hush-hush for any manufacturers & more so for an exotic maker.

Mel or Alfred will never release any "confidential" news unless instructed
by factory. I still remember the GSpyder's launch @ Sepang in 05 had very tight security. Lambo's CEO did say they'll release a new model a year & that SUV thing could be in 2010 or so but will they co-brand with an SUV maker like Porsche?

I think they may standard ise the LED style tailamps for the G like Concept S which is in line with LP640.

It is good to see the Gallardo GT3 scoring success in UK & hopefully all these racing experience will help them make better cars.

Anyway it's all pure speculation but the short lifespan of eXpensive toys is worrying as that means sharp depreciation for owners.

As for your guesses, well they are spot on unfortunately the way of the world is, one cannot depend on others for everyone has their own matters to contend with. Perhaps one of the reasons I like to mix with NC 16 to R21 people, they are so carefree and happy. When you are with adults you have to conform to social norms, act any where out of the ordinary, and straight away you are an "outcast".

I do not blame anyone for not listening here. Being at the top of the pyramid means most of the people here are tasked with heavy responsibilities. Real life issues. Cannot expect them to have to contend with virtual ghosts too right K.D.K is cookoo most times, but sometimes K.D.K thinks too! Hor!

first off, i drive an mpv. the honda odyssey rb1. jdm. not the ones you get from kah motor. pearl white. with 7-speed cvt. the pride of my stable - in fact, i intend to join your morning drives in this.

i also have a mildly modified z4 3.0i. 6-speed manual. in alpine white. yeah, i am a wussy posing in a hairdresser`s car.

come dec 07, i will take delivery of a gayman from stuttgart. 6-speed manual, again. modest lil porker. my2008. in carrera white. will send it for fvd conversion pronto.

also eyeing a 930 turbo. to be registered for street but purely for track. most prolly to be painted black. yup, this one will baulk the colour trend.

that`s all folks. outside of (cheap) cars, i don`t really have a life.

my exact sentiments. dealer said ``dunno`` to all my questions: ``is carrera red interior available for my2008? will 7-speed dsg be available? can i order light-weight bucket seats? i saw them in porsche ag`s pdf brochure. will there be a facelift for the tail lights? when is dfi coming?`` PIs are a lot more forthcoming.

i like to hang out with nc16 to r21 people too, just as soon as i get to know enuf of them. seriously, young people rejuvenate us. not that i am old. i usually ask for their ic though, if they happen to wear skirts, just in case.

Your two if not third toys can easily add up to a Ferrari or Lambo but variety can be nice. How many manual Z4s are there here? Anyway, I got tired of maintaining them & simply don't have time as well so got rid of them overnight & found myself very poor.

There aren't many nice 930s left, mostly butchered beyond recognition while the nice ones are still holding pass S$100K. Not good buy IMO but they can be very very fast.

there are 3 manual z4`s that i know of. but only one that gets a little help (1 bar to be exact) from a blower

it`s a cinch to bring a 930 to the 400-500bhp band. and, for about sgd110-130k, you get complete track setup, with standalone ecu. reasonable deal. once the handling is sorted out, this baby might give the *gasps* gt3rs a run for its money. lol

btw, does the owner of a yellow g xxx80x hang around here? we had a brief run at the prince edward road bend a couple of weeks ago. very friendly chap. we waved twice and parted after the temasek tower junction. i think i was in my zee. hmmm......... affirmative, i wasn`t drivin my ody then.
