I posted a dining room set for sale on Craigslist yesterday and some guy responded within an hour asking if it was still available. I said yes and finally got a response this afternoon:

    Hello,

I really appreciate your response to my earlier mail am extremely
interested in buying this item from you.,i will pay you $50 to withdraw the advert from Craigslist.com,in order not to lose this item to someone else.
I want you to know that i will be paying via check/money order.I will need
you to provide me with the following information to facilitate the mailing
    of the check.

Immediately after you receive and cash the check,my pick up agent will
    come for the pick up.

    1.Your full name
2.Your mailing address be it residential or postal address
    3.Your phone number.

I will like you to know that you will not be responsible for shipping i will have my mover come over as soon as you have cashed the payment .
Hope you can understand my explanation ???

    Have a nice day.
    Michael.

Does this look like a scam? Seems like a red-flag to me, but I'm not really sure. Also, he sent the exact same email 3 times within 5 minutes. Plus the first email was from a Gmail account. This response was from a yahoo account. ??

    Thanks!

Yeah, and if you send the 50 dollars back his mother with cancer will give you 200,000 dollars

on a side track, i just found out someone i knew fell for one of these (not related and not a close friend thank god), then when it didnt work they called her up and pretended to be the FBI and told her they were going to trace her money and to keep sending money.

She sent over 150,000 dollars
