Hi guys! Whew, my arms were tired from flogging that poor 308 after you two! What a great day. Mark, thanks again for the ride in the 550 - definitely a treat!
I have a couple photos that I will get up here soon, but alas, I am evacuated from our home due to the wild fire here. I don't think anything will come of it, but it is a big inconvenience. The fire's about a half mile away now, but hopefully skirting by to the north!
Don't know that July 1st will work for me yet, but McClure pass/Redstone sounds nice. I'll let you know.

How well did the 308 handle the altitude? I've been thinking a 328 up here but I am concerned about performance and may consider a 355 with all its headaches. Any comments?

The 308 is fuel injected and although I was not driving it, appeared to have no problems. Matt told us it was running fine. He was fast. :D

I take my 328 up cottonwood pass regularly (about 12,200). It runs fine. Yes thee is less power and you won't be ripping up steep sections, but still plenty of fun. These roads are not high speed anyway, so power is not that big of a deal. By contrast, my 430 is still has ample, ample power even at 12K.

Great pictures. I was just thru there on my motorcycle. We came up over the pass and stayed in Aspen on June 6th, which was Wednesday. Stayed at Hotel Aspen, had a beer at the "J-Bar", and had dinner upstairs someplace "downtown". We left for Denver area on June 7th. The sky was absolutely black to the West when we left at 6:30 AM. When we got to Denver, we heard Aspen was getting snow.

I have some of the same pictures, only no Ferrari's. Too bad.

Oh, quit showin' off! ;) Even if you lost 50% of your power, that's still a pretty nice sports car. 50% of MY power is a push mower. sigh. :)

We will definitely do another run up here, and anyone who wants to come up should feel welcome. I think July 1 may work. We are still evacuated from our house due to the fire, but hopefully will get to go home tonight. I have some photos too, but you'll just have to wait!

My 308 ran just fine. I would go with a 308QV which would have no problems, 328 would be better, 355 better still. My choices were basically carb or fuel injection, and since I'm too lazy to wash my car, let alone tune 4 webbers, the choice was clear!
