    From his listing.

"I have owned this Ferrari since 7/2000 when I acquired it directly from the owner and the Insurance company after it sustained very small damage to the front bumper. The only part that was replaced was the front bumper. It was painted and repaired by a qualified body shop that worked directly with Ferrari. "

    IT HAS A SALVAGE TITLE!!!

Yeah......Its also missing the front grill/emblem. The rear bumper has slots cut into it. Dont recall seeing that before. The drivers seat bolster is worn bad and the hand brake is stuck upright. I will give him $35,000 for the parts.

Cars do not get salvage titles from rolling into things. Unless it rolled down a mountain into something.

That is the first thing I thought!!! The damage must exceed the value of the car. Must of been one hell of a expensive front bumper....

A few months ago we had a similar scenario on F'chat where someone claimed to have gotten a salvage title due to a co-worker backing into his F'car while it was parked on his driveway. Goes to show you that people will just tell you anything to get rid of their salvage titled vehicle.

Oh I just love reading that ad story...Hahaha.

That dealers parking lot must have some really, I mean REALLY, steep hills in order for a car left in neutral to roll fast enough to sustain such damage that the insurance company would rather writing it off than just pay for the front bumper repair.

Come on, give me a break. If you gonna sell a car with salvage title/history at least come up with a more believable story or simply tell the truth of what really happened.

You may want to read the owners manual or call a Ferrari dealer--the belts should be done--complete major service every 3 years or so, regardless

sorry, your very wrong buddy. It should be done in 5 years if it does not get used at least once a week as the belt dries out or 30k. I have the manual and thats strait out of it! Where did you get your info of every 3 years? You may want to call 516-000-4565 Luigi @ Long island ferrari.

Ah yes, but the wonderful induction kit he mentioned makes it all so understandable, as those were only delivered on the "goldfinger fender" 355's, where the front bumper was essentially lightly painted gold & diamonds - it's all in that manual he has - which makes the salvage title make sense... ringing Luigi now for some tips on extended service intervals...

Chris, keep us posted on what you get, this might be rather interesting...

    The R E P L Y ! LOL

Air induction for brakes were hooked up where fogs go. valve guides and manifold were done at 19774 miles. belts to be done at 30k. Yes i have receipts.

    I replied with...

There was no belt service performed on this vehicle in 13 years?
According to the manual in my 99 355 spider, it should be done every five years (regardless of miles) or 30k whichever comes first.

    Good luck with the sale.

if that's the case why doesn't he just pipe the A/C into the intake manifold? It's got a salvaged title....drill away. I want to know what Luigi says that way I can know whether or not to use that dealer.

I'd buy this car for $30,000 easily!!!

It's not his fault eBay morons are bidding it up!

You could have a lot of fun with a 355 when you don't have to worry about resale value!!!

I would agree with you, however, HIS reserve price is over $40k! T

his guy is smoking crack. Crack-laced hot dogs. Cause I just checked the VIN and yeah this was a NY Kosher-built Aluminum diamond-plate cart model 5200 that was converted to 355 spec per VW beetle ('68) front hubs and a Fiat Abarth engine in back, mated to a 21-speed Huffy gearset from a Barbie bike.
