Attached is a pic of my '85 Mondial Cab. The p.o. fitted these HRE wheels, but I cannot find any reference on the web of what model they are, offset, width---as normally recommended by HRE for this model.

The car is presently fitted with Sumitomo HTR 50 Z 255/45-17 rears and 205/50-17 front -- tires. This gives the car a little too much rake, and I want to fit a little taller tire on the front.

I flat-spotted the fronts last week-end (don't ask) and as I'm searching out a Sumitomo solution, I thought maybe another member may have been down this path before.

Thanks in advance for any comments or suggestions.

They are HRE 505's made to mimic the 288 GTO styled wheel, but the offset and rim width could be anything, and it can be altered. Contact HRE about different wheel rims to check your options.

Im running 225-50-16 front, and 245-45-16 rear, and the front and back wheels have different offsets, and the rears are wider.

Yeah, those are 505's. I've got a set on my 308 (16x7 & 16x8). If you are interested, I might be willing to do a trade.

Thanks for the info. These 17's really change-- for the better--- the look of the car. I understand that a 3-piece modular can have a number of different widths and offsets -- based on what combo of rim halves are fitted. I thought that maybe there was a standard recommendation from HRE for the Mondial. When I aquired the car, the p.o. gave me a thick file folder stuffed with receipts(to the tune of $56K spent over 70K miles). I'll have to go through them again and see if I can find the one from HRE. Or-- of course, I could just find a wheel caliper and use a measuring tape and find out the real deal that way. I ordered a set of Sumitomo HTR Z II --- 225/45/ZR17's today. I hope the extra 20mm of tread width doesn't cause any interference problems up front.

I ran 225/50s on the front no problem to correct a similar rake issue as you describe.
I might also take an unpopular position that 255 on the rear is a bit too much tire, with 225 - 245 being more ideal.
I agree about the 17" hre's - I looked for a year for some before fitting the Speedlines.
    Beautiful car!!

Henry, the Mondial wheels won't fit your 308 anyway. Wrong offsets by a mile.
