The man has done a lot in the last few decades, and had a go in RE with great success. In the end, the reason he was a substantial success is because he accepted huge risks through the years... risks that might have just as easily bankrupted him before he bought his first F car.

of course, I am always wary of letting too much information out, my "he retired himself out" is a true statement, if a bit of a smart-mouth response. He could continue on the path to become one of the wealthiest men out there, but other things are more important to him, such as family, and the hobbies after that.

Bobby, I agree with you. Such questions do not seem out of the ordinary. I myself get asked what I do all the time and don't give a second thought to it. People can be pretty touchy about certain subjects, and for those of us who have been fortunate to spend time with this guy, NONE of us would ever want any of our actions to do anything that could potentially affect him or his property.

To be honest, just knowing where the cars are kept is a bit stressful for me as if anything ever happened...well, I'm sure you see my point.

Last night I went for a quick drive. I pulled into my garage and as I was getting out of the car, I was surprised to see a gentleman and his son had followed me right into my driveway and had no qualms about just walking right in to my garage. I was a bit freaked out. No, I don't have a $200k+ car, I only have a 348, however, for a brief moment, I was running through different scenarios in my head about what may be happening (am I being robbed?)

As it turns out, he lives in a nearby neighborhood and just wanted to show his son the car.

Would I follow someone into their garage like that? HELL NO.

There is a difference between a $60k car and a $200k car. There is also a difference between a $200k and a collection, well, to me would be considered priceless.

An excellent point, Mike... as you know, even during the drive back in April, I was very cautious about when to tell people where to go, and the owner appreciated that... Of course, we did have a discussion about somebody releasing the details about the drive over on the NSX boards, thankfully, the garage in question isn't on that map :)

Right into your garage Mike ... that must have been a tense moment.

It must be that approachable vibe you give off. :)

Boy now that's over the top! Walking right up to you in your own garage. On those occasions when I'm going home and I think I'm being followed, I just keep driving right past my house...and go in random directions. Once I loose them then I go back home and put baby to bed. If somebody had walked into my garage like that I might have said something, in a firm but polite way, to be respectful of others property and privacy. That takes some serious attachements to just stroll into somebody's garage. I'm sure the emotions of seeing a Ferrari got the best of them.....but that's no excuse for poor behavior.

I hear you Jeff. I too, when I suspected that I was being followed home drove on past and continued my drive for a while longer until I was satisfied that the vehicle I suspected was following was no longer in sight.

Last night, my neighbor from Trinidad had his steel drum band playing in front of his house and there were several cars parked in front of his house. Before I turned into my drive, I looked in my rear view mirror and saw a car turn onto my street, but it was far enough behind that I did not suspect that it would have been behind me. When I pull in my driveway, I drive slowly and carefully, and then I like to put my car as far to the right when I pull in so again, that maneuver is performed slowly. Before I even shut the car off, he was already approching the back of my car, in my garage.

This is the FIRST (hopefully the last) time someone just pops up IN my garage.

Thanks Isaac for the generic answer I was looking for. I am sure this gentleman would have no problem with you telling someone that. Not knowing anything about this person except what I have read in this post he seems to be a self made person that more than likely has his collection for others as much as himself. One of the greatest things about owning an exotic for me is being able to look at someone especially a child and see them smile because of the car...and also see their "dream" gates open up....I know what they are thinking because not so long ago that was me standing there with that big s--t eating grin on my face outside the local exotic car place....and actually still dreaming today :) thats why I always like to know what others do, especially people that have more or something that I would like to have...who better to learn from the point of wealth of money....someone that drives a Yugo or someone that has a very large collection....more than likely the latter and there is that saying that "what one man can do so can another". Thats why I asked, you can always learn. Lucky for me I do Real Estate also :)! If any of you guys that have the opportunity to meet this guy or know him I bet he would love to share some things or some stories....if not for any other reason just to reminisce.

Ok almost a full page and no pictures :( whats going on.
Mike thats a little nuts, standing and looking in parking lot is one thing but to enter someones house to look is crazy. Did you let the father and son admire or did you send them on there way?

Considering what time and day this page started, and the fact I had work to do up north. (I'll talk about it when the contract allows it... something wonderful!) and had a "small" vacation... and drove with John's CGT, and Tim's Noble on the greatest road I've ever driven... it puts the Loop in Hell to shame in a serious way.... far smoother, much better scenery, more corners.... I could go on and on and on and on....

Guys... WE MUST do a drive through the "tunnel" sometime this summer.... you wont be sorry!

(OK, I'll load a photo) But... I hate doing it, because It looks like crap, and the rest aren't ready.

I have to admit I'm jealous. Of course of the man who owns all that, but I'm also jealous of you getting to photograph them in photoshoots. I'd love to do that.
