My 05 Nero 430 has tiny pitt/chips on the hood and slightly above the headlights, from 3 full days of tracking. Most came from driving
Pocono Raceway a few days after Nascar was there. The Windshield also
got many tiny chips. I have a Clear bra on the lower half of the the hood and
the entire front spoiler ect. Its very noticable if you look close. The rest of the car is perfect. What to do. Just live with it. I wont track it again, probably. GT3 is coming soon for that. Paint it? I dont know. What would that do to the value?

Many a Ferrari has had bumper and hood re-spray. It sucks when you want to keep the car like new, but not really a big deal, minus the bucks to have the paint job.

How did you do on the track??? I am going to Summit Point in July, never tracked the 360 before and I can't wait!!!!!! Much easier than tracking my M5 I am sure!

Are the chips through the paint and down to metal?

For a car like that, I would send it to the best name in town for paint and see what they say. A windshield is only replacement glass but painting parts of a car like yours can be a real black eye when it comes to a sale. Even if the buyer doesn't care about the repaint or in fact likes the repair he may still beat you up on the price over it.

If it was me, I would because it sounds like paint is needed.

Maybe just a good buff job??? <<< Spend the money on a pro, just like a paint job.

Tracking it was great. My 4th time doing it. Pocono is cool because it has 2 3000+ft straights. Got it up to 155 a number of times. Very stable. Its a bit soft on the road course, not bad, handles great. Problem is doing it with just the 3 point belts. You get thrown around a bit. Also not too safe. Too much focus on staying in place vs driving. All in all its a blast. Not many cars faster, even in the corners. I took it easy in the Bowl. No need to push it at that high a speed. It was fun mixing it up with Z06's and another 430.
I guess I'll wait a while and think about it. Once I get the GT3 I'll keep the 430 on the road and probably bring it to the best and have it repainted.

I just had it detailed and there is a lot left. You have to look close but once you see it, its there.

Battle scars! Shows you drove it. My CS is getting them just from local driving. I've told myself over and over not to worry about it. Our cars are so low to the ground it's impossible to avoid.

    A 430 and a GT3, life is good!!

Same thing happened to me at VIR and I have the half clear 3M treatment as well. Will probably do all the front surfaces on the next one if I track it. I am going to have the chips touched up and then deal with it when I sell it. Some things are worth a few stone chips!!/Volumes/070524_1345

I't worth it to be able to really push the car.
    I would do it again.
Cant wait for the GT3. I love both cars.

Then I vote for paint. What's the alternative? Let it stay like that?

    Sorry for your troubles.

BTW - Financially I would be more concerned about the windshield than the paint. Last I checked the windshield was $2500. Gotta love Ferrari. Just got a quote for a passenger side sunvisor...$500 :)

I agree. Then cover entire hood and fenders.
