The prices may have to come down now as I sense the market is softening for cars of this type. Perhaps people are realizing that they can do so many other things with all that money. Maybe its the economy or maybe its just the cars. I noticed that M.I. has had 2 Diablo SV's for so long they finally lowered the asking prices by $10K and they were still for sale as of a few days ago. Just an observation from someone who already "gave" at the offiice with 7 cars of my own.

These prices are soo good, that anoucing them on here would effect the price of evey Diablo on the market!!

So if you have been thinking "I want a Diablo, that has full service history, no rock chips, no paint work, and a ride-n-drive car" then now is the time!!

Each car stands on its own value...posting prices WILL not effect the market...IT WILL allow a potential buyer to decide if he/she is even in the ball park for the car...

Thanks for posting the prices. Roy is right. Helps a buyer decide if he can even get into the game. BTW, what is the mileage on the cars? I note that you did not post that info on your web site.

Thanks Chris. You do a great job with the pictures you present for these cars. Helps a buyer get a good feel for the cars cosmeticly at least.

    Dear Ferraristi / Lamborghinisti,

I kinda disagree with that. I've been searching for a Diablo since last year to buy for my 40th birthday this July. I have seen all the Diablo prices rising sharply. Roadsters have all shot up above $ 200k ( Autotrader, Dupont )

I haven't seen the mythical 89k early diablo for quite a while now. I think with the sucess of the G and Murci, the diablo is now the "classic- Italian " Lamborghini. ( you know....the ones with Italian engineering) :)

    " sometimes ita gonna work....some a times maybe a no....but she always gonna look a Good ! "

Shamile: Dealers/Sellers can set what ever prices they want. However it is the ACTUAL selling price that is the key indicator. Do not be fooled by Dealer asking prices. Buyers set the market, not the dealers.

I am going to add to this, but carefully!! The asking price that dealers set throught the USA, according to our own database is 1.2% to the postive..meaning cars are selling right at or just above asking price, that usally acounts for why you see dealers raise there prices to bump buyers off the sideline rather then lower there prices...I know sevral FL. dealers that do this and works very well..

Do not be fooled by thinking most dealers will dump there cars the longer they sit...The cars will be put away in most cases, and brought back out when the market improves..Me I am in business to sell cars, so I work the oppsit of most dealers..I just want to make happy customers with the best cars on the market!

I do not know what kind of a "database" you have access to and a reader here could take the postion that your comments are self serving and not to be taken as Gospil. Also your remarks can be somewhat misleading. Example, just recently a Diablo which has been advertized be a well known seller, had the asking price reduced almost 5% after being on the market for a long time with no action. Now if this car actually sells for within 1.5% of that reduced price your premise would be partly correct but it would ignore the fact that the asking price had been reduced recently by 5%.
Buyers set the market and always will. Hopefully educated buyers will do their homework and resist the urge to pay what the dealer wants and not what they the buyers feel the car is worth. Or just look elsewhere. Each time a car gets sold at a higher price the next seller want to get his money back and maybe make a few bucks so he sets his price higher than the price he paid and the next buyer/seller goes through the same process. So the price keeps getting pushed up but at some point that pyramid reaches the top and guess what, there are no more buyers at those price levels and the Pyramid collapses. Kinda like the old Ponzi/Pyramid scheme. No one wants to be the last one in!
Many of us who already own Lambo's, and I own 2, want to see their cars appreciate but, at some point when they become buyers again they probably won't like the price.
Selling cars is a tough game, especially Exotics, for both buyer and seller.
Buyers really need to do their "Due Dillegence" if they want to have a satisfactory result. These cars get have an emotional effect on buyers, especially first time buyers, and cause them to do things that maye bring on "buyers remorse" later. Kinda like with women but, then that is another story.

    Xto,

I was not stating it as gospil, just a operservation! we databse by vin# the cars marketed..we have had our database now for more then year, we get our information from 3 sources, first, we simply get the asking price, then we get the true selling price, how we do this? We buy the tax information for what states the cars are sold in, from a company in Nb. We then cross that against the MMR...when i speak of my database, we bulit it! We see the numbers, and we see the cars when the come on and off the market..I can not get the buyer name, adress or any personal information other then what tax was paid and what state a certain car was registered in...it could come off as self serving, and I supposed it does, but not my intentions..The book value are so far off, we decided the only way to know is track, now we have just about all of the murcie's and diablo's in our database...so we just see some intresting stuff in the numbers...

Now also in our database we see the "diffrence" but you can still back into an est. of the purchase price! Everything else you stated is true for the most part, but think of this, I know of a dealer last year that dumped a 360 to another dealer, the dealer that bought the car, sat on it for a year..but he did sell it for $155k...with his COGS on the car for the year, he still came out $13k ahead on the car..that was point..some will wait it out! I do not have that luxury..I just wanted to post a thread a build some intrest like other do...I just want to make this my best month ever!!!

I thank you for your views, if you wish to talk about how I can serve you as a buyer for one these 2 cars or to help me serve you as buyer in the future, please feel free to contact me toll free at 866-575-7146 and anyone else!

    Thank you!

    100% correct.

Nice thoughtful write-up by the way. And Chris at Premier tries very hard to serve the needs of those in the market for the type of cars he specializes in.

I find your response quite interesting Chris. Its a tough buisiness to be in I am sure. I still think the days are numbered for the $225K Diablo Roadsters and $205K 6.0. I own some of these cars and I can honestly say that my $160K Ford GT is a much better driver than my Diablo in every way. Faster, more power, especially torque, more excitement. The Diablo's is visually stunning compared to the GT but, then again, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. I still love the Diablo but as a driver it pales in comparison to the Ford GT. Of course this in my opinion and I am sure others will feel different. If I had to get rid of one it would be the Diablo but I would not be happy. I like having both. I am sure that there are still many potential buyers who will be caught up in the allure of the Diablo and pay more than maybe they should, but one thing for sure, as prices go higher the amount of potential buyers who can get into the game start to dwindle. That Pyramid gets very narrow at the top. This alone may limit the price escalation that has been taking place. Now I am only talking Diablo as the very limited and exclusive Miura is in a class known as "how much do you like it"? Some Countashs' are in that league. Now should I relate my sad story about how I let my 67 Ferrari GTB/4 go too cheap? Naw, can't take the pain.

    Thank you!!

in our databasing we have seen the Diablo's climb every month since January 2006, and on the 6.0 the prices will remain moving up...

I know dealers are not dropping there prices because of Flooring curtailments or other issues..Me I just want to make this the best month for me and my buyers so i am writing deals!!

BTW, just to clarify, that was a 1967 ferrari 275GTB4 with only 3000 miles on it. Do you remember back in the 80's when the exotic market was going crazy and so where the prices? Some of the GTB 4 cam cars hit almost one Million Bucks!! I remember guys buying an Anniversary Countach, brand new with the Stickers on the window and plastic on the sheets, putting the car on a trailer and taking them home or to a wharehouse and putting it immediatley back on the market for another 20% and getting it. I once traced the last 4 sales on a Anniversary car and they were all bought by guys with Dealer Licenses who would simply flip it and make some quick cash. Not one buyer drove the car. Now that was a time that I don't think we will see again in my life time. Then again I'm so old I don't even buy green bananas' any more!

Joe: Do you remember what the US sticker price was for a new 89 Anniversary car? I seem to remember $149K??
