Khips, Actually it is a 1974 euro carerra which means the car has the same engine and drivetrain as a 2.7 rs but had the then new impact bumpers and tombstone seats. So is is undergoing a complete restoration to become a rs replica. Unlike most replicas you see being featured, this is mechanically identical and also expected to be as light (tgt weight of 950 kg or less) so it should be as close to the real thing as possible. But it is not the real deal. That nowadays is gonna cost you north of 120k sterling which probably means it is too valuable to drive daily...
Les, there was one silver replica running around few years back driven by a Japanese man. Is the car still in town? Have not seen it for a while.
yes, has the ducktail, the engine was rumoured to be a very special one from Ruf or someone, when one of the owners sent it back to sttugart for rebuild, they sent it back to Germany, and the Germans got themselves a good find. It is running some form of stock motor now..you can see it from time to time in Ubi
No mate, never physically left there. But it is on their web site. Car is with Autoinc, Autoconcept, some Hong Seh guys and old Arthur. Will give up soon... Only one its not with is the german expressway.
Phil, that was a yellow one. The silver one is another car, and was owned by a car dealer (a car was blue then the car dealer resprayed that one silver).
Mate, got a fantastic book on the original RS that you would love. What colour is the car going to be when done?
Oh man, have not been here for a bit, come back and there are colour changes, house changes, rolls royce changes and I'm not sure what else. This is better than Days of Our Lives!!! Amazingly there was a Top Gear review by Clarkson some time back when he thrashed arond in a Murci. In his mind it was the best uber car, and he did a head to head comparison with it against the Pagani! He never seemed to get to grips with the Gallardo but felt the Murci was a top shelf package handlng wise, power wise and all... With the sale of the house could there be another Murci owner soon?

As I understand it, prior owner had the engine sent to Autofarm for a trick 2.8 setup. But current owner wanted it restored to original form and thus sent it to Stuttgart who in turn sent it back to Germany for a new 2.4 engine. Bog standard and thus a real goldmine for the mechanics in Germany in terms of a custom 2.8 from Autofarm. Car is a 69 2.4S if I am not wrong. But for me a little strange cos it still runs the ducktail and thus is not original in look. But owner is on a far more ambitious project. He has brought in a 356 coupe and a speedster to restore and run on our roads. That project is being undertaken somewhere in Ubi and so far has taken more than 12 months and counting. As per my project, the really slow bit is the bodywork. A full (in this case full means removing every last bit of trim and parts from the body shell) respray takes eons to complete.
Would love to see the book. Which one is it? Colour is white with green decals, wheels. Just like the one Phil and I saw in Germany when we went to the factory.
cannot lah (famous last words). still think it looks like two different cars welded together. what i can tell you is that i am halfway down the road to legitimately belonging to this site (haha) and this time, i blame mike! part of my plan to grow up and be like you lung... btw, anyone see the article on next car (malaysian co) and their problems?
if we make the rule retrospective (and i vote we do), you will be buying me lunches for a month, uncle lung!
