Yes but none of them wants to go Know one guy with a F40, F50 and Enzo. Know a guy with GT and SLR Know a guy with Enzo and Veyron and MC12 Know several guys with GT1 and GT2s All of them say no when they hear there is a bunch of imature Lambo owners coming with Audi Gallardos and they are OUT! Not even sure anymore if Bill wants to go with the NSX anymore
Yes but there will be Fiat 360's there too OR A FIAT MC12....lol Also if you want to get technical they are VW Gallardos the same company that makes the VW Veyron. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/1986961.stm
...now I understand your logic. Since Honda is not owned by anybody the NSX cannot be considered a Supercar. Only Fiat and Audi/VW will qualify. Yep, now it makes sense. ...or not.
Correct me if I am wrong but Ferrari, while owned by Fiat, remains autonomous. Not sure where the Fiat 360 is coming from. Lambourghini has been with Rosetti then bankrupt then Mimram then Chrysler then Megatech then Mycom and now Audi. Regardless I guess I will be keeping the XJ220 at home with the CCR as they don't meet the criteria. P.S. Audi is a subsidiary of VW. Lambo is a subsidiary of Audi. Your analogy is akin to saying a Mercedes Viper.
Same thing with Lamborghini. The only thing they use is the AC controls/Navi/Steering wheel for Gallardo/Brakes/and I think tail lights-The parts that AUDI IS GOOD AT. They have no involvement with Manufacturing the car, or engine, or suspension. They have used some design from Lamborghini for the Audi lines now coming out.
So Lamborghini completely on it's own designed and built the engine and drivetrain for the Gallardo, as well as everything else with the exception of a few items you mentioned above? This is what you are saying?
Know a guy with an F40 Know a guy with a Porshe GT Know a guy with a Porshe GT3 RS Know a guy with a Porshe 959 Yes they live in South Florida but no, from all of the above.
LOL, I guess Audi really never was able to prove that their AMLS program really works. It must have been the AC control unit that came in 1st place in LeMans not the Lamborghini engine oh wait...Lamborghini never really raced LeMans...oh wait never really raced...ah...anything at all (but I did see a stunning example at the tractor and garden show a few years back.) So lets see: Gallardo: e-gear has huge issues clutch usually lasts under 7000 Miles value drops the second you drive it off the lot. the good news, the AC works (must be the Audi control unit) Now there is a "Supercar" for you !
I found the perfect way to express my feelings: http://members.aol.com/ecsull2/private/audio/ahhhhh.wav http://members.aol.com/ecsull2/private/audio/doh.wav
Martin, First off I personally like the looks of many f-cars. This is not an attack on f-cars. This is a response to a comment you made in jest, and I did as well. Here are some facts if you would like a debate on the cars. Audi's ALMS cars are some of the best, as they finished #1+#2 last year, and have done very well the last couple of years as seen here: http://www.americanlemans.com/assets/pdfs/06_YE_Points_Standings.pdf As far as Lamborghini's race program being non-existant, Lamborghini owners dont care. There are some people who buy Lambo's, and some that buy F-Cars, and some that have both. The people who have the f-cars are more about racing heritage, etc. The people with the L cars are more about looks, or the faster car in a given price range. I.E. 04 Gallardo vs. 360, or 06 Gallardo SE vs. 360CS, 06 F430. Heffner TT Gallardo vs. Novitec Gallardo. I personally think the F430 is a great car, and is a great competitor for the Gallardo. The Gallardo has proven to be a much more reliable and low cost maintenance car compared to the 360 if you want to start that argument, and the car that you mention with those issues is a very early run 04. As far as the Gallardo Engine, it is derived from a design used in VW and Audi's, but Lamborghini used 2 inline 5 Audi Motors put them together with different components and hand built them to create the motor. The original design from that came from VW passat motor. The current S6 and S8 use motors derived from the Lamborghini counterpart.
you still don't understand: The South Florida Toy "SUPERCAR" run. Yes when you are looking for Supercars you are looking for: Ferrari F40 Ferrari F50 Ferrari Enzo Bugatti Veynon ..and not a single L car in that list. Yet you keep on definding the mass produced, value dropping Gallardo. For all the comparisons you made they are worthless. Power that Lambo claims it has is WORTHLESS if the only place you can show it is on Ocean Drive spinning wheels to impress the bling crowd. Take it to the track baby and show what you have. You can have 10000HP. If you can't put them on the ground they are WORTHLESS ! Of course Lambo never did that because they realize that they stand no chance. One of the richest guys in racing today (Tracy Krohn) has tried to get Lambo into it and they failed so miserably that he pulled the plug. Cost him well over a Million Dollars but he knew that another Million would not have fixed the flaws of the car. (he sold the Lambos and bought...a 430GTC ) Did I mention that I love the Diablo ?
Martin, I must not get it. Or you must not get it. Ferrari has a racing program lambo doesn'T. F-car owners use this to defend their marque. Lambo owners could care less. I made this comparison simply due to the statement of Audi Gallardos, which you seem not to know much about from the statements you have made. A lambo doesnt spin its wheels on Ocean drive because it has AWD. You say you can have a 10000hp car and not put it to the ground? The Lambo will 100x faster than the F-Car due to the AWD. Since you want to go the route of track here are some comparo's: A stock 2007 Corvette Z06 will hand a f430 and a gallardo their ass on a track. Does that make it a better car? Here are some straight line vids: http://youtube.com/watch?v=2Y_QM7LVCt4 http://youtube.com/watch?v=32HlDTLpNYc The green car in the 2nd vid I would like to see race an Enzo from 30-180. It is just a little different now. Almost stock. I didn't come up with the title for the event, and you guys keep cracking up about it and laughing, but we have 2 supercars going, and 2 tentatives. It will be a great event. We will have 1.5 to 2 times the cars this time around compared to last time.
how about nsx kicking lambos ass til car overheated http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=2949919259744802395&q=nsx+battles&total=87&start=0&num=10&so=0&type=search&plindex=4
k...lol this whole thread needs shut down!! one thing that sux about planning an event so far in advance....so much talk and no action for soooo loooong!
Shut down for what? We are civilized individuals having a debate. I have not made any personal attacks on Martin. I am sure there will be some good runs on 7/7/07. That much highway will be a good time.
