Hi Carol. Thanks for chiming in. In your honor I'll pickup a six-pack of Labatt but it will likely share cart space with Molson unless I'm overwhelmed by "Molson Haters" or "Labatt Lovers"!

I'm a much bigger fan of the Labatt products than Molson. Much smoother.
Or now if you can get your hands on some Molson XXX that's OK... 7.2% and still pretty nice & smooth!

I may just adopt this local beer idea this weekend! Heck, I could go to the host country if I really wanted to... ;)

BEER? You must mean for a NASCAR or NHRA race? F1 is more a wine and cheese, or at least mixed drinks event IMHO...

Hard to believe but I forgot about Moosehead until a day or two ago even though I have a bottle on the shelf.

Well, Labatt Blue was the drink of choice; soundtrack provided by Henry Rollins and Black Flag. Kind of ironic that my beer and Massa's race were both less than full; see thread below for beer reference...

So, what's on tap for Indy? Any local brewers that might be available down south (New Orleans area)?

Hopefully something I consider "good" but most brews "cold and wet" fall into this category given my unsophisticated tongue. I do tend to skew towards ambers and "blondes", not a big fan of very dark, heavy beers but I want to try'em all.

For the USGP I enjoyed a couple of Sam Adams. He was an important person in US history before he was a beer so it seemed an appropriate choice.

    Suggestions for French GP?

    Hi Steve -

There's only ONE as far as I am concerned - it's a terrific French lager. I have plenty of it in the fridge.

    KRONENBERG 1664

    Carol,

Thanks for the tip; I can always count on you. I picked up a six pack of "1664" this evening. I'll probably try one or two Saturday night and save the rest for Sunday.

Just part of my evil plan to NASCARize F1 so we can get some decent coverage in the US! See below:

    Step 1: Drink beer
Step 2: reunite Juan Pablo with Ganassi; this will teach NASCAR types that a keyboard character other than "U" can follow the letter "F"
    Step 3: Drink more beer
Step 4: ghost write nasty letter to Teresa Earnhardt, signed "With Love, Dale Jr."
Step 5: Drink even more beer
Step 6: Junior leaves DEI, signs with Hendrick; Jeff Gordon can't handle all of the Junior fans calling him the "rainbow weenie"; Gordon tells Junior what an awesome time he had driving Juan Pablo's F1 car a few years back at Indy and perhaps Little E should give it a try
Step 7: Finish off the 12-pack
Step 8: at drivers' meeting Juan Pablo and Junior become best of buds and JP tells Junior all of the really cool video games are European only releases; Junior gets fed up with Gordon fans referring to him as "he may be Junior but he's no E"
    Step 9: Start second 12-pack
Step 10: watch as World Series is interrupted for breaking NASCAR news..."Dale Jr to head GM's entry into F1, will drive OnStar Opel Impala!"
Step 11: Post "Chicken Little, end of the F1 world as we know it" & " here comes toothless rednecks from NASCAR" threads on Fchat; leave half empty beer on computer desk and call it a night, a very good night.
Step 12: Rinse and repeat Step 1.
