The front emblem you can cover with "bare metal foil". You can find it in any well stocked hobby shop. It is not clear but it is extremely thin and when you stick it on top of the emblem you can see the contours on it. Yeah it that thin!
Same thing on the side emblems. Unfortunately if they are Ferrari scripts ot just pininfarina badges like on the Enzo- they are goners. You would just have to replace them with decals or photoetched parts.

    Hi,Robbie

How about making a white F355 GTS like mine?

It's easier to buy some emblems and stick them on as I told you before.

Robin I did the opposite!!! Based on a HW 355 GTS--I did not paint it--I want to experiment a little more before I do another paint job. Removed the door panels, seats, brake calipers and painted white. Flat black for the wheels, center console and parking brake handle. Added silver for the pedals and lug nuts on the wheels. So what do you guys think????? Remember this is only my second one ..

Yeah....looks great with the white interior!
I did mine with white because I already got the black one and also the flat black F355 GTS.
Basically,I only modify cars when I got an extra one.
As you guys know,The F355 GTS is rare and hard to find now.
We can only count on the new release red F355 GTS of HW.

    What's your next target?
    Hope to see it soon.

I have a grigio/creama HW Spider that I am working on now. Just changing the interior to all black...I did the black GTS because I had 3 of them..Plus it gives me a good understaning of how these things go back together from a put together model..I will post all my custom ones in the custom thread from now on also...Also you are right--Cavillino wants $150 for one of these 355 GTS put together models--so they are getter scarce...Luckily I found a few on Ebay over the last couple months for much cheaper...

Good for you to get so many black F355 GTS.
The yellow F355GTS are still can be found in Europe ebay but the postage is expensive.
How about custom a orange 355 GTS just like the Lambo style?

In my very limited model building experience I have had pretty good success using an airbrush and model store paint. The metallic particles are much smaller and seem to scale to the model pretty well. Also, you can get chartpak tape that is much smaller and will work for masking pretty well. Using an airbrush do several coats. I usually do around 3-5 thin coats and it looks good. I paint R/C models and they get pretty abused but the paint has held up well over several years.

No offense but you are comparing apples with oranges. The RC cars have lexan bodies and there is totally different paint for them. Since you paint them from the inside you also don't have to worry about getting smooth and shiny clear coat.
You are correct about one thing though. Airbrushing is the way to go. Simply because of all the control you get.

Good point for making models in new color, but it did not affect me too much.

    I still have about 30x HW F355GTB, 10 355GTS and 15 355Spyders on hand for color modification.

I also bought some UT F355 in my vacation

Nice work! I like the wheels, not over chromed like some I see out there. I found a Fujimi 355 spider kit the other day, can't wait to get it on the bench.
