I realized that iPhone plan for at&t is only $59.99 with unlimited internet! WTF? I pay $110 for same plan on my current Blackjack! (They rape you on the unlimted internet usage. I pay extra $39.99 just for the data.)

So I will be saving $50 every month if I buy the iPhone.... Okay, I am sold.

Well, I was going to buy an iPhone anyway, but I was floored when I noticed it was $25 cheaper than my Verizon Blackberry, and that plan only comes with 10MB. The real killer is that unlimited SMS is $20 extra, since my SO and I text each other a lot using Blackberry messenger, but this might turn out to be a non-issue.

Be careful, last I heard the IPhone wasn't compatible with all business email systems. Be sure to consult with your IT guys before buying.

I heard Cingular/AT&T's EDGE network sucks, slow and and unreliable.

Why run out and buy this thing right away? Everything I've read says that the 2nd generation version that's almost ready will be much better... AND as with everything else in this genre, the prices will come down dramatically after a few months.

I'm hoping to pick up one tomorrow. As far as a 2nd gen goes I wouldn't expect any real changes till January. A cheaper less functional iphone is probably a possibility. The only real upgrade I would want is more storage. 3G isn't a concern to me because the closest coverage is almost an hour away. We'll see what happens though. I'd like to see an all new imac more than anything right now.

one thing that I'm on the fence about is that the screen to my BB gets all dirty when I talk on the phone part, but the keys stay off my cheek. But I get grossed out by the thought of one large screen and running my fingers constantly through oil on the screen. Sure, a keyboard is probably just as bacteria-ridden, but the visible oil is a turnoff.

My Blackberry 8800 gets greasy enough as is. The idea of a giant screen that's also the keyboard just means that much more oil and grease on it. I was going to NOT get one for just that reason...but my resolve is weakening.

I have a blackberry in the DFW area which utilizes 3G. When we are out of town, I cannot tell any difference at all between the 3G and the non-3G networks EXCEPT that when away from DFW my battery actually lasts londer than 6 hours as it does on the 3G networks. I have heard the IPhone plans will be significantly less than my unlimited data plan on the blackjack battery drainer, but I am going to the local Cingular store this morning to confirm before I stand in line. I will post what I find out. I wonder if there will be less of a line in the rural areas...Granbury?

Although I really liked it, I also wasn't totally sold on it until I saw the rate plan. I think I'll wait until the price comes down a little. For $600, I could get a nice piece of glass(lens).

I'd think that most people that are getting these will be using a bluetooth headset device so the screen wouldn't get it so greasy against their face. I'm still with Sprint for another year and a half & currently working in the wireless industry so I'll wait until they improve this model before I make any snap decisions. Who knows, maybe Sprint will offer it by then.

    I stood in line for:

    Concert tickets
    Video Game Console Relase
    Car (Waiting list)
    Flowers (Mothers day)

Just to name a few... So standing in line for new hot gadget isn't that crazy. For me at least.
