Hello to all. Im looking for my first Ferrari and have settled on the 308 series for several reasons. I've owned Vettes and various other muscle cars. I currently own and fly a Pitts S2A aerobatic airplane which is known as "The Ferrari" of aerobatic aircraft. Anyway..Ive looked at a couple of 308 around the MS Gulf Coast but have not settled on one yet. Anyone with knowledge of one in my area that "could be" for sale, please let me know. Travel to Florida, Louisiana, Tenn is fairly easy. I drove my First Ferrari not long ago and was blown away. Im not a tire kicker or time waster. I've monitored this site for a few weeks before joining. Thanks in advance.

I would try the Ferrari ads here, or www.drautos.com, www.collectorcartraderonline.com to name a few. Or even try googling "Ferrari for sale" and see what pops up. You'll just have to see where the cars are that intrest you. That is if you've exhausted all the local/regional ads. Shiping a Ferrari you find from farther away is not unheard of. Nor is flying out to see one either. Make sure you have a PPI done by a independant shop first. Its all a part of the experiance and the story you can tell to the grand kids on how you aquired the Ferrari! Have fun and good luck!

    Cheers!

You will love the 308. I have had my 84 GTS/i for 16 years!!! The only reason I am going to sell it is because I now can afford a 360 :)

Too bad you are so far from Colorado.......

You have a plane. How about extending your search range a bit? ;)

    (And welcome to FChat.)

Joe, even within the '308" range you'll have to sample the early 76 -77 carbed NON CAT cars, then the 78-79 is a slightler different spec, the 80 - 83 are called "early injected" 2V engines, then finally the 308QV engine closes the chapter on the 308 series.....

Yep I have the plane but its not good for crosscounty. The Pitts was designed for nothing but performance..rightside up or upside down! (grin) You are strapped in like a dragster and your butt can only take about 1.5 hrs and you run out of gas after 2hrs anyway. But you do cruise at 165-180mph so anything within 300 miles of me could be reachable with a return home the same day. With av-gas running close to $5 a gallon (I burn about 10gph) once you get beyound 400-500 miles is cheaper to ride with the big boys with a drink in your hand! Finding something away from this salt air would be preferred anyway. I'll be in Vegas in September on business..if I don't find something by then I hope to locate some Ferrari nutts in the desert that may know where one is. lol Joe

Joe, I think I'm the only one driving a Ferrari to the beach...look for the surf rack. LOL!

The cars I saw in New Orleans were all very well maintained, IMO...

Yes, we're still here. All of the casinos are back open and the Hardrock resort opens this weekend. The offshore boat races were awsome this year..1st year since the storm. I was in our chopper so I got front row seats (Big Grin). Only a fraction of the homes are being rebuilt on the beach because of the insurance lawsuits. Mostly highrise condos being built now. We'll look like Miami Beach in 5 years Im afraid! :( If you have not been back, "come on down". Casinos, Golf and a 26 mile long beach are going strong. The "Cruising the Coast" car show was back this year with over 5000 cars from all over. I only saw one Ferrari that week. They do that in October so anyone looking for a place to go, Crusing the coast will blow you away. They have a webpage you can google. Joe

You should be willing to expand your search to nationwide. I have had 3 Ferraris, live in Virginia and they ALL came from LA (NOT the state ;-) !! Recently bought a 1988 Mondial and paid $1500 to ship it covered and was a GREAT service by DeMoise shipping. For the right car, that kind of a premium is very reasonable in my view. Good luck. Motorcars International in MO always seems to have nice ones available over time..

    Cheers

    Welcome to F-Chat.
If you find one around you, that great! But I would not limit my search to neighboring states. I found mine in Pittsburgh and I live in Southern California. The trip and shipping were well worth it.

I found mine on eBay. I contacted the seller after it didn't sell.

    Don't forget to get a PPI :)
