F355: some of you guys have some good recommendations on companies that reface the clutch discs with an alternate material.

I have had this done already, and have been happy with it. I would like to try a new company for my next clutch, so can you please give me your recommendations. PM is ok too.

    Thanks, Jay

    Jay,
contact Mike down in OC, he resurfaces the disks as well. even has the V12 pressure plate redone with more clamp force if needed.

If you're real keen Jay, you can get something like this. :):)
This is my 348 clutch, made here in Australia. Bulletproof. Can be made to suit 355. ;);)

Exactly right mate. :):) VERY strong clutch. Bulletproof on the street and can handle abusive track days also. :):)
Pressure plate also has more clamping force. I forget exactly how much HP/Torque the clutch can handle, big numbers though. ;)
I also forget how much more clamping force the pressure plate now has. :)
Clutch was made for me by ferrarifixer here in Aus. :)

Centerforce will do kevlar pucks on your existing disc, assuming it is in serviceable condition. The kevlar grips very well too, you may not even need a stronger pressure plate.

I wouldn't recommend using kevlar for your clutch. It's a great material, almost too good, it is so wear resistant that it will wear your flywheel out before the clutch disc goes. If you haven't priced a new flywheel lately you should check that out. You can buy several std material clutch discs for the price of one flywheel and presure plate. Regards, Vern

I agree looks like just the friction part which is fine, but as I was saying look at the price compared to the disc. You can buy 8 discs for the price of 1 flywheel and disassembling/assembling the 348 and 355 flywheel is alot of work ie; not the same as the good 'ol chevy small block. The 348 or 355 don't produce enough torgue or hp to warrant a higher than stock performance clutch disc or presure plate. Just MHO. Although I will say Pap's parts look cool, haha. Regards, Vern

Closer to $3900 at Ricambi...and around $4400 at FNA dealers. Insane.

Hmmm..interesting idea, but I don't think that material is conducive to the type of mechanical abuse(too brittle) it would receive. Also the flywheel generally needs to have some weight to it for inertia reasons. Although since they are using ceramic material in brake discs that might work as a flywheel but again it might be to light for street use. Regards, Vern
