It was really late last night and so I started looking up some threads that Alex had posted in the past. I saw the title with "Mclaren F1" to it and I was drawn to it. Unfortunately the pics are long gone. I really hope Alex can re-post them for us who didnt see them.

    Dear Comrades,

How can this be a motor car of high integrity when it is reliant upon another manufacturers engine?

    With kind regards,

    Dear Comrade kovachian,

Oh really. But they didn't appear to be too successful - a sort of one horse wonder perhaps?

    With kind regards,

'Cause it's a bad mofo, Comrade. Around the time the chaps were slapping these together, same team was doling out a dose of high integrity upon their competitors in F1 - with a like mis-match of chassis/engine. The F1 itself came around and showed the rest who was boss in competiton, also. May also be the last nanny'd-up supercar. This car could be the Royale (w/out cheese)/250 Goat of it's era. Count me among those who'd suffer the inequities.

The Cobra served up some integrity in its day w/successfully integrated unrelated components, as well.

Perhaps cool stuff is simply parameter resistant?

You are dissing perhps the greatest supercar ever made. One that has enjoyed almost universal acclaim since its inception, and continues to be regarded as the best of its type. You indict yourself by your asinine comment.

The Mclaren F1 IS the greatest supercar of ALL TIME in my opinion.

Thank you very much for the pictures Alex. It's not very often that we see pics of the Mclaren F1 in a more "normal" enviroment.

Interesting thread....was fascinated to see the car orginated in S Africa, I suspect it subsequently did return to SA and I beleive I know who it belongs to.....the owner has a few other exotics and really enjoys his cars....Initials P.M....then again I might be wrong...great pics.

For those interested to know guy I think who owns this car also owned a road legal Pontiac Firebird that hit 387 km/h in 1989 on the road in S Africa....

Although I posted in this thread back when it first started, I still don't recall you having a McLaren, Alex. Congratulations.

    Any Enzo yet...?

It's not mine, but it was housed in one of my garages for quite a while. The owner is a good friend and his sons were doing an internship in one of my companies for a year. AZ was a better environment for the car at the time rather than California where the car first entered the US. It was fully federalized and licensed in California, but it is now back in S. Africa

It "didn't appear to be too successful"? Please elaborate on that one. How does being the overall winner at LeMans as well as winning the BPR championship still require something additional to be successful? Well, if you want more, it did win the JGTC. What has the 512TR won?

    Thanks for the pics Alex.

Not yet... But as soon as I know something, I'll let you you know... But, seeing as how I don't actually know the guy, I doubt I'll be the first to know.
