Bought a 00 360 F1 Modena 4 months ago with Tubi exhaust. 19000km. Idling was smooth until 3 weeks ago after I took the car to Ferrari Dealer for major service and clutch change and transmission ecu upgrade and after one spirited drive in heavy rain. I notice the car now has rough idle - gurgling sound. No problem with starting the engine whether cold or warm. Engine appears to pull strong and no stange sound once after around 2000 rpm. In fact, I am not certain whether the car had it before. Is this normal?

Thank you in advance for your views and comments.

A gurgling sound? Maybe there's water in the airbox! The Italian's don't make good submarines, stop driving hard in the rain.

I highly doubt that gurgling sounds can be coming out of water in the airbox.. plenty of people drive their ferraris in the rain..

Maybe a contaminated MAF, mass airflow sensor. Could be the cause if any of the sensors got contaminated by a drop of water after driving in the rain or just a dust particle. It is possible. You can use CNC throttle body cleaner to clean the MAFs.

Don't know about gurgling but mine had a unsteady idle reving between 800-1100 at idle. Turned out to be the passenger side MAF sensor.

The Ferrari Dealer (Hong Kong) has diagnosed that there is leak at the gasket/seal where the intake manifold joined the engine...or something like that. As they is no error code, they checked all sensors and cylinder compression before finding out what is the problem. They have now changed the gasket/seal at the relevant position as well as all cylinder gaskets and I will pick up the car today. As I have just completed the full service and clutch change and transmission ecu three weeks ago, they are kind enough to waive all labour and only charge me for the costs of the gaskets, which I will find out later today.

Many thanks for you folks for the replies
