Wait a minute. Not being a martini drinker, this raises a few questions. He pours out the vermouth? Is that how a martini is made?

Also, is it gin or vodka in a martini?

Gin brands have very different tastes to me. I like Blue Saphire and Tanquerey, which don't taste the same at all. Is either of those the right kind of gin to use in a martini?

Also, what about the whole "shaken not stirred" stuff. Do you need one of those stainless steel shakers to make a real martini?
