A red Ferrari bursts into flames in chain-reaction crash on I-95 By JONATHAN DUBIN [email protected] Wet weather and worn tires led to a fiery noontime crash today on Interstate 95 that involved three vehicles and destroyed a 2000 red Ferrari. The accident occurred just north of the Northwest 103rd Street exit when a northbound 2005 silver BMW, driven by Lior Demburg of North Miami, hit a slick spot on the roadway and spun out of control, the Florida Highway Patrol said. ''The tires just slid out from under me,'' Demburg said. ``I didn't know there was anything wrong with them.'' After losing control, Demburg began to veer left toward the median. He first collided into a 2000 white Nissan Sentra driven by Luis A. Dehoyos of Miami. The BMW continued to slide left and eventually ''T-boned'' the Ferrari which had apparently broken down and was stopped in the emergency lane, the FHP said. The Ferrari burst into flames and in seconds was fully engulfed, said Lt. Pat Santangelo, FHP spokesman. ''It blew up right in front of my eyes,'' Demburg said. The driver of the Ferrari, Hronis N. Paul, was pulled out of the fiery wreckage by an anonymous passerby. He was rushed to Ryder Trauma Center with burns. Demburg, the driver of the BMW, received a citation for driving a vehicle in unsafe conditions because his tires were worn out. ''It's very important to have proper tires in this kind of weather,'' Santangelo said. ''A lot of wrecks are the result of smooth or worn tires. When the road gets wet it increases the probability of hydroplaning,'' he added. It is not known whether speeding played a role in the incident.

That is just HORRIBLE, I just spoke to Fred and Ron is ok. Our thoughts and prayers are will him. Adriana and I just watched the video and she starting crying. Thank god he will be ok. he can always replace the car. BUT we could NEVER replace RON. Please take a moment and say a special prayer tonight for him.
