I'm going to re-finish my valve covers with VHT paint and was wondering how I get the black plastic clips out without breaking them???

I'm guessing that they twist out????? Reason I'm guessing is because I busted mine. I thought that they just snapped in, and tried to pop them out, and broke them in the process. NOOOOO I didn't just keep going and breaking them all. LOL. A couple of them were already broken from the previous owner. Anyway, I think that they twist out.

I know that there is a center plastic dowel that drives through to hold them in place, but the only way I can figure to get it out is to superglue a platic dowel to it and pull it out.

lefty loosy 90% of the time they come out clean. 10% the U pulls off the stud and then you need to glue the U back on stud and or remove stud by lefty loosy method

same thing with the very important holders on the cam covers to hold fuel line return. Fires can start by chafing these lines so make sure these U's are doing their holding job.

If they break and leave a piece in, do the following.

Get a long thick screw and heat the tip over an oven flame. When red hot, screw into the stuck piece. After a few seconds, the screw will cool down and you just pull it out with the bit.

You know, that's a very good idea. There are lots of things I would like to add to the kits but here is the dilemma... it would raise the end customer price a bit, and not everyone wants these things. Here's what I would add (in my mind):

    348 kit
    Plug Wire Clips
    Oil plug
    Stabilant
    Exhaust donuts
    NGK plugs

    355 kit
    Plug Wire Clips
    Oil plug
    Stabilant
    Exhaust donuts
    Hill Engineering Exhaust clamps
    NGK plugs

    308/328 kits
    Spark plug extenders
    Plug wire clips
    Oil pan/transmission pan gaskets

    so forth and so on.

Thoughts? What else would you add?

A 5lbs BFH to smash the stupid cat ecu's. :D

But seriously, some Hondabond or ThreeBond for the gaskets. There is NO need for a Ferrari to leak.

I like the plugs, doughnuts and clamps. I already have the clamps though... ;)
