I'm glad to hear Ron is OK. This could've mean much worse. Very unfortunate for all this to happen. I hope you recover quickly, Ron!
Just got of the phone with Scottie. The official report for right now is that he is ok. He had surgery today and will need to have a couple more as well. He isn't really into seeing anyone right now with the way he is feeling and all the pain meds and what not. He is going to be in the hospital for the next few days. Main thing is he is OK! .m
Ron - Barrie and I couldn't believe it when we heard... hope your recovery is speedy, and you're in our thoughts and prayers. We're here for you if you need anything at all.
Seeing wrecks on the news is never good. Seeing a ferrari go up in flames is pretty bad. But hearing one of our own was hurt is awful. Having spent many weeks in the hospital burn unit myself my heart goes out to you and your family.
Ron, Thinking of you from up here in the Great White North. We are so sorry to read this thread. However, the car can be replaced and you can not. Get well soon. Peter & Sandi
I just saw a video and it is clear that it is a BB and not a 2000 Ferrari as reported. In any case I am glad Ron is OK.
Mods, I am sure we all want to be kept uptodate on Ron's situation. Can we combine this thread with the Paging Ron Paul thread?
Okay guys here is the low down: Ron is alive. Not quite kicking yet but will soon be. He has sustained some heavy burns to his right hand and right foot, though he was more pissed that the medics cut his Ferrari shirt in half )) He is under medication but is really lucky to be alive after this firey inferno. There is video on Chanel 4 and 6. 6 has the car still smoldering, 4 when it was out. He has asked everybody to not come to the hospital. Please respect that guys. He is aware that you are all thinking about him and grateful to have so many friends that think of him. He may be posting tomorrow. Gaby will be at the hospital with him and will have internet access. Thanks for all the wellwishes.
Thanks also to Fred and Anna and Scotty and Marle for jumping in their cars when we got word and coming down.

I had a relative call to see If I was ok as they had seen the "Ferrari" accident on the news. I am glad that Ron is o.k. and that is all that we can ask for. At the same time, the images of his BB burning are painful. In a sea of newer Ferraris, it was always great to see Ron's Boxer at local events. They are special cars that are slowly getting their deserved recognition. In any case, most of us will agree that Ron is a special part of our local Ferrari community. I eagerly anticipate his next post and hope to see him soon even if it is in a Honda.......
Indeed not a pretty sight!! However, cars can be fixed or replaced. Get well soon Ron. ...a neighbour from the North.
again sorry I couldnt go see you Ron, as soon as I knew I wanted to drive down and see you. but I got good news...I found those pics you wanted....I will print them all tonight.
I told him you wanted to come and that I asked you not to. He really appreciates all the well wishes. He even asked that Scotty and the rest of the guys that came to the hospital in the evening would not come upstairs. Thanks Dave for calling me and alerting me to the post.
