Yup, in 1979. Guess he bailed out at the right time, which earned him legendary cult status. On the other hand, his remaining band mates are still trying to cash in on the Pistols' name. Sad, given that they're a bunch of old guys now. To borrow one of their album titles, flogging a dead horse...
oh yah...another 2 albums I remember I got from Supreme was Ofra Hazra and Imagination in the early 80s.
You got that? Wow! I still have that record and Surrender is my favourite CT song. Surprisingly, those guys made it big in Japan before their own country (USA) even took any notice of them.
No No...the all time CT song for me is "I want you to want me". Where Bun E Carlos started the song with that famous drum groove.
I Want You To Want Me is a good song (and was their breakthrough hit in America) but the chorus/lyrics for Surrender still haunts me after all these years. Anyway, we're digressing and we should talk more about music the next time we meet. Just a couple of 60-somethings reminiscing 'bout the good 'ol days...
Ok third time was abit of yawn.,, but i did notice something hor...Lido 2 digital sound not as powderful as Cineleisure Digital...cinema 3...
U mean... "Mommy's alright, daddy's alright, they just seem a little weird, surrender, surrender, but don't give yourself away"
Better clarify your statement.. "just a couple of people born in the 60s reminiscing 'bout the good 'ol days" NOT 60-somethings lah... if 60 something we'd be driving Bentleys.
Aiya, was trying to throw some smoke bombs around here to confuse certain elements but you exposed my plan...
sorry, what would tiong do? please tell me so i can proceed to do it! seriously, quite entertaining listening to you old fogeys chat; brings back quite a lot of memories. the dj's on morning radio recently were having a similar conversation, trying to recall the old music shops etc, and i almost crashed the car when they insisted that one of them was called "chua joo chiat" ("chua joo huat" actually). my personal faves were valentine's (overpriced but up to date) and dada (the less popular stuff). that's all i am saying before i reveal my musical tastes and someone psychoanalyses me! my current earwig has these lyrics "some things you shouldn't get too good at, like smiling, crying and celebrity; some people got way too much confidence...". go figure.
Yes I passed that junction and I wasn't speeding. Can you hear my exhaust? Incidentally I am also driving a cooper S today. We can do a Cooper S meet up.
Damn! I am really getting old. I can remember the location of my favourite record shop (Paradiz Centre on Dhoby Gaut) but not the name of the place. Anyone? I used to spend 80% of my school pocket money at the place. And if they didnt have stock, I would have to rush across to Valentine to buy the more expensive copy....
It was supposed to be s-n-i-g-g-e-r. Didn't know I would be censored! Yup, remembered those places too. These days I get my fix from ebay and other mailorder places...
Were you also leaving the carpark (or returning home) last Saturday at about 5.30 pm? I was at the kids' pool with my son and thought I heard your exhaust.
Oh, I was coming home and rushing for 6pm tennis game. Should have called me lah, my kids can join in too.
