The F-chat soap opera continues.................... It has never seemed like a run date was SO far away, so this thread would DIE!!!
Oh...oh my, I am so sorry. Of course if you don't waste your time why would you post in another forum. Of course if you think that name calling is immature then why call Ferrari guys "***s". Oh my....you are a tool!
Again. I posted it here because I like Ferrari's and WANT the cars and owners at our event. My namecalling was directed towards you, not towards anyone else.
LOL Fred. You know I wouldn't have even begun to post on this site if me, Alex, and Bill didn't like Ferrari's. Why have them there if we hate them and their owners. I just dislike Martin. Hate is a very strong word.
Good for you!!! BTW, if you DO decide to post nudes, I sure hope you give the F-chat crowd the first peek.................. LOL
I'm a follower of several boards, including some that cater to the AMG and GT40 crowds, but this has got to be one of the least civil and most perplexing threads I've ever read. This is surprising to me since I would have guessed that the demographics of Ferrari ownership would perhaps draw a better-educated, more sophisticated dialog. A good example is the quote above. Having just bought a Ferrari for the second time in my life, this 'Supercar Run' seemed like a great idea for people that enjoy Ferraris and Lambos, etc. to get together for an organized drive to a great resort. Hell, I'm always looking for an opportunity to get my car out of the garage. If certain folks don't like the selection criteria that South Florida Toys have instituted, why don't they just stop reading the thread and stay home? And there's something wrong when someone organizes an event like this, opens it to all Ferrari owners, and you have a moderator of the site wishing he had shut down the thread because other cars he feels should have been included - non-Ferraris - were not invited! I don't get it. First, isn't a moderator supposed to remain relatively impartial? More importantly, I would expect that moderators have an obligation to ensure that the board is being used to the benefit of its constituency - which in this case is Ferrari enthusiasts. Personally, I don't have a dog in this fight, except that I am looking forward to getting out on the highway with a couple of dozen really cool cars. If the event organizer wants Ferraris and whatever else, hey that's his call. For a FerrariChat moderator to lament that car events posted on this board should be open to any vehicle of his personal choosing, well then a lot of people won't be interested - in either the event or the board. The bottom line is that, whether for reasons of profit or altruism, a car event has been put together that affords Ferrari owners a chance to get together, which I think is great! If Cavallino Motors wants to organize its own event, then they can invite whomever they want. Otherwise, chill out, do your job as a moderator, and don't let your ego interfere with your responsibilities to this community and the FChat board. And try to set the example for calm and considerate discourse. This thread has taken on all the trappings of a schoolyard. Just my two cents worth.
You missed the point, but I'll tell ya where you can put that 2 cents. Well, F-chat would get them before LP, but that's not saying much! Anyways... I thought maybe I should add this to show those that don't know the typical posts of those on LP. Keep in mind I was asking because I was genuinely interested in knowing the answer, I didn't make the thread to provoke drama or 3rd grade replies.. Also, note the date, the thread is from 6/2006. http://www.**********.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=16954&hl=
BT, do you think the lotus is faster than an nsx? I would have liked to follow or have lead Fred and myself thru it just for fun..next time! I would think nsx is quicker...but im not sure numbers on elise
Track sounds awesome! id leave car home and take bike tho would have to compare times, deffinetely do not believe would allow bike and car on track at same time! day I put some great brakes and tires on, day id love to track my car!-
The point would be for everyone to bring their car, mostly the Lambo's and Ferrari's to put the ridiculous banter to rest... for a little while. Problem is I don't know how many people would feel comfortable taking their car to the track, a bunch of the slow pokes would probably back out too.
I think your NSX definitely had the straight line speed and accelleration throughout the rev range. I think it was pretty close through the curves, but the Lotus probably has about a 3-4 mph advantage on the couple of sections where I was watching the speedo of both cars. I am not sure if you were pushing your NSX hard when I was in Fred's car, but he was definitely gaining on those several laps. Of course I provided extra right side traction for Fred. I gotta say I am impressed with the driving you and Fred were showing on Sunday! It would be interesting to time it around for a few laps. BT
ok this is it.... "track" day.... timer....put it all down in a notebook. put it to the test. all can come out....we will have to make a new thread.
BT, that was my father driving...next time fred lol! i can drive circles around him there atleast in my car, and he really didnt have much of a chance, lol i was screaming at him the whole way!..im a verry critical person..every shift lol or anytime he didnt do what id do i was screaming at him...wish he took his car so he would have had more fun! the back part where we were parked, im not sure what my speed was going thru that lil sharp left, but i was doing 80 thru that, then ave 100 on the straights and 70 into the back long double apex sweeper
Yeah, let's give it a bit of time, maybe September? I definitely think it would be a good time. The Lambo guys should be invited as well so that we can have quite the duel...
You are missing the point. I have not shut this down because it was seen first as an event that was not for profit. As it later turned out (several pages into this discussion on who is allowed to come and who is not) the whole event was organized in order to shoot a video or trailer for a video so the organizer (s) can sell and/or pitch this video to a studio. According with the rules of this board and many others, you have to be a sponsor to promote a business or for profit event. I had a suspicion about it and should have (the word is SHOULD) have shut it down at that point. Since this whole argument about this being a for profit event and venture broke out I, as one of the moderators, feel that it should remain open. The "agenda" of the event is exposed and by the banter of some people here you can see that you as a Ferrari owner are not really invited. And at this time it does not matter that he claims this is personal between him and me and he does not call Ferrari owners in general "***s" because that is not what he wrote, when he had a chance to say 'Martin is a ***' or 'Cavallino is a ***", he chose to say "***s THEY are". The reason I did not shut it down when they started saying this or that car is not allowed is, because that is no grounds for it. I will however argue every moment with you that a NSX is such more of an exotic than a Lotus Elise and closer to a "supercar" than an off the mill Ferrari 360 (..and my company sells Ferrari exclusively, not Honda). Just as you and everybody else here, this board is open for discussions. We may not agree with each other on some subjects but we can discuss them. For certain I will not shut down a thread because I disagree with your opinion. Hope you got the point. The reason this thread is open is, because it is NOT personal. The reaons why they are not allowed to post their event on the Lambo Power board is, because Lambo power knew right from the get go that they organized this for their personal gain.
Chin will be in Homestead in a few weeks. Open to all cars and it is a controlled environment with safety personel that aids those cars that simply "flip". on a serious note though I suggest that this is really done on such an event. It is hard enough to visit one person at the hospital but two is too much.
