Now that I retired and slowed down from the hectic pace I have noticed a lot of traffic violations on my daily trip to the gym. Here is a summary , so how do you fair out.
    1. Don't stop for stop sign
    2. Run red light
    3. Don't stop before right turn at red light (NYS law)
    4. Speeding
    5. Driving to slow (20 under limit)
    6. Illegal left turn
    7. Pass on double yellow line
    8. Pass on the right
    9. Backing on to highway
    10. Illegal U-turn
    11. Passing stopped school bus
    12. Turning without using turn signal
    13. Broken head/tail lights
    14. No front plate
    15. Talking on cell phone (drink coffee , shave , makeup , etc.)
    16. 1/2 sec. to blow horn at green light (bird flippin)
    17. Agressive driving (to close , weave in traffic , etc.)
    18. Tossing butts , cans , garbage out the window
    19. Drag racing
    20. Drifting on city streets
    21. Loud deep base ricers
    22. Directional signal left on forever
    23. No seatbelts (dog in lap , 4 kids in the back)
    24. Not stopping for someone crossing the street
    25. Backing down the road
So over the course of the last few months I have seen this list of things on my 30 mile round trip to the gym. This covers village , town and state roads. This is at 9AM so most of the folks are at work. Just an observation now that my 308 is a daily driver. OK I'm on my way to the gym so be careful out there. Enjoy the ride

We have a lot of bikers down here in SC, and some of them drive like they are immortal. Weaving through traffic, driving down the medians on the highway at lightning speeds, driving between cars in their lanes, etc. I have to look everywhere, then check again. I'm surprised more don't get hurt.
Most bikers are good around here, just a little loud for my tastes, doesn't make them look cool to me when they blast the engine in the center of town, but when you compensate for something by putting an engine between your legs, I guess you want to be heard and seen as much as possible. :p JK, I do like bikes, just need to know when to expect one :)

Another one you see a lot in Chicago is turning right in front of a stopped CTA bus (the stops are usually at a light) . They even have a big sticker on the back of all the buses stating that it is illegal.

My biggest problem is that I cannot control my speed. I drive as fast as possible at all times. Unfortunately, I live in a highly cop-infested area and get caught ALL the time. :(

I've been using cruise control a lot lately.

I'll add this one to your list. I have a noticed a huge increase lately in the number of drivers who don't stay on their own side of the centerline in regular 2-lane roads. Some of this is "cutting corners" at intersections, some of it is "cheating the centerline" on bends in the road, some of it is just plain "Hey, I'm too cool, move out of my friggin' way!" I'm convinced that it is being done on purpose.

In N.J., you are required to perform at least 15/25 of those on your list every hour driving, or risk your license.

You might also try staying in the right lane as much as possible. The revenuers are geared to watching the left lane. I saved a young lady who travels I95 between Baltimore and Washington regularly a lot of money by telling her just that.

Nah. Those guys just lack the ability to judge their speed going into the curve. I make a game out of judging the curve, reducing my speed, and staying on my side of the center line without using my brakes. They are aiming, not driving.

Not if they're behind me. It's our job to slow down and pay attention in a school zone because a child won't. You hit a kid and regardless of the penalty, never being able to get it out of your mind is the worst. That's another reason why I go slow in the neighborhood, even in the Ferrari. If a kid darts out after a ball I need to stop quickly.

Not at all, mate. I'm retired now but, I learned a very long time ago that neither the cops nor the fools will change their ways. I assume they (including the cops) will not stop for a stop sign. I always look both ways when the light turns green before proceeding (saved my ash more than once). I never believe a turn signal until the driver actually turns.

Following too close is a death wish waiting to be fulfilled. That is one reason why my mother (RIP) always told me to drive while observing at least two blocks ahead to be ready if something up there happens.

The other piece of great advice she gave me was simply, "you can't hit what you're not near." Cheers!
