Are those seats comfortable? Wouldn't the scales catch on the fabric of your clothes as you slide in and out of those seats? The seller's quote is: "The Gator Seats are truely sharp looking, people are amazed of how it looks!!!!" And where does one get that done at? I haven't seen too many croc interior specialty stores. Nothing new and it's done all the time. There was a green Lambo with an alligator skin steering wheel, door panels, and seats. The scales will not scratch/cut you or your clothes. They have blunt ends and aren't like thorns or anything. Rather smooth actually (each scale, not entire thing). There are several alligator farms where they breed them for both food and skin to sell. Mostly in Florida and Louisiana. I used to work in an alligator research lab at the Univ of FL and handled them frequently. When we were done with them for our experiments, we would have them incinerated instead of using the skin (they were already euthanized by this point). edit: pics attached. There are also ostrich seats. I think those look horrible, though... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
+1 Does he think the leather seats in Ferraris are okay? There are over 1 million (yes, million) alligators here in Florida so we frequently have people go out and capture the larger ones that cause problems. Nothing different than slaughtering cows for food and leather like they do for alligators for the ones bred in farms.
+1 For some reason, using the skin of a cow is okay with me (leather), but using the skin of an alligator or crocodile is too much. I know they use gator & croc for purses, wallets, and cowboy boots, but car seat coverings just seems too unusual for me. Also, I've tried eating gator meat in a restaurant once and think that wasn't too good either.
My dad and i were looking at NSX's for him and we saw that one last night!!!! Poor car its ieven located within 55-65 miles of me..... NO i wont go and look at it myself
The only thing I think ostrich looks ok on is motorcycle seats. Corbin Seats makes some really nice motorcycle seats with ostrich. I wouldn't like it for cars though.
Well, then let me give you a restaurant recommendation... there's a place in Winter Park (suburb of Orlando) called 310 on Park Ave (name and address) and their gator tail is AMAZING. Try it!!!
They serve aligator at this BBQ place in the Grove in Los Angeles. Its very tough and taists like frog legs... JJ
What I have had wasn't tough. So I think they cooking it right. The best I had was a cajun resturant in Birmingham, AL Called Ralph and Cackoos. It was blacken Gator tail. I hate that resturant closed. Stephanie thanksfor the tip Next time I am down visiting my buddy in Kissimmee I will have to try 310 on Park.
It's amazing to me when someone who's trying to sell something, let alone something as expensive as a car, and they don't bother to use SPELLCHECK. everytime, everyone, alot, truely(twice), no scratches nor dents, the(no y) are(twice), almost like your in a Ferrari, Lamborgini(no h), dealership had advise me so. Wouldn't buy from this guy if he were selling a 430 for $10G, there would have to be something fishy about it.
