Ugh, I meant the Toronto run. Feel free to edit that post, since you're so fond of doing so BTW, in no way did I mean to claim credit for any part (route design, pre-runs, etc) of the cruise itself.
Nice little setup... I have a gutted EF that weighs in at approx 2189lbs, with a B18A(fully built) spooling a GT30R and a hydro GSR tranny, along with k-sport coilovers and some other goodies.
Couldn't grab a hold of Rob after the practice but he went into the pits early, is everything alright? There was about 10 cars at least in the pits. Good luck tomorrow!
Looks like I'm in the same boat as Arshad as my wife and I couldn't find a sitter for tomorrow morning. I probably have a seat open too.
Things have not gone to a magical start as we blew a head gasket and only got 3 laps of practice. The engine is coming apart right now and the boys will decide soon whether we will swap out the gasket or run our spare engine. It's 10pm right now and I won't know for a while which way things go. One thing is certain and that is there will be fireworks in qualifying tomorrow morning.
Well good luck and I might just drop by Sunday for an update. I couldn't even manage any good on track pics Decent ya but not good but I will post them all at the end of this week! GL Rob, nice meeting you.
Mine's taken now too... abs9987 will be riding shotgun. See you all tomorrow morning, it's going to be AWESOME!
I really wish I could ride around with you guys all day, it should be an amazing cruise! I'll be intercepting the route a couple places to get some pictures and then I have to haul it out to Guelph See you guys soon!
Arshad.....Thank you very much for a very enjoyable ride today.....I had a great time....met some awesome people and some really nice cars. What a great turn out. The route you chose was very well planned. Looking forward to do it again soon. Thanks to Charles and his crew, Lucas, Thomas , Derrick and others for taking all the pictures and videos. I can't wait to see them when you guys post them. Good job!!!
Thanks a million yet again Toronto308 for the ride! It was nice to see a few faces again and of course the faces of Fchat. I should have my pics up sometime next week sadly(The MOLSON Indy is taking up my time this weekend)Glad to see some nice machines out there! P.S Did I call that one or what?! Once again, Arshad has outdone himself. As always, one hell of a job! Also, a huge thanks to those that shot pics and videos through-out....some incredible footage was taken. Good to see some of the regulars...can't wait for the fall fling! Tough day to be driving a black porsche though......but from what I heard, they got off pretty mild...most with just a lecture and a warning. Good stuff!
Great day! It was a lot of fun, and great to see all the amazing machinery -- thanks to everyone who came out and made it so enjoyable! I just wanted to thank Mark (CDN_Wolf_Eh?) who did all of the planning for this route with me, so the credit goes to him as well! Also, we borrowed parts of the route from Ian (imacarthur) who unfortunately wasn't able to attend today. Yeah there were two minor tickets issued.. one for improper ownership on one of the porsche's that was pulled over and one to the CGT for no front license plate. Sorry about the restaurant AC situation -- apparently their power cut out which made it a bit hellish rather than being a nice relaxing stop. Also, I messed up on the Glendale exit off the QEW which caused a lot of people to go the wrong way -- SORRY!! That was entirely my fault... I'll post up some pics and short videos a bit later. Overall a very successful and enjoyable run I think!
Id have written them all up for driving German cars myself. Thanks Arshad. Another awesome cruise. Who do you bribe with the weather?
Would also like to thank Arshad and everyone associated for such a great day. Too bad the Germans got pinched, we were in the group just behind so I guess they ran blocker for us. Thanks Guys . Maybe silver just blends in, who would have thought it would be the stealth colour. We did get some one finger salutes from a few people but I guess thats just par for the course. Can't wait for the next one!!!
As they say.....**** happens. After all the cruises you've arranged, you must have plotted 100s' of turns....at least 1 mistake is a statistical certainty. And who can predict power supplies? Not to mention, the time and effort you guys put in, as well as the hassle of setting up, depositing for and arranging stuff along the way...just fantastic! ...........and this was just one of many you've organized over the last few years. We are not worthy......but I'll take it all the same!
Start video from one of the vette guys: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EPkPyjjPEAE The random cars in the middle were not part of the cruise, ie mustang+Mini cooper etc. Also it didn't show a few of the cars that were there ...
