Nice! I missed out on the meeting spot (and the run itself!) this morning, would have loved to take some pics PS. The more I see that sexy yellow paint of the Murcie, the more I wanna take a bite out of that thing Joe, you've been warned - keep that thing away from me! LOL! I didn't see Rick's TR in that short vid, did he bring the glass mobile?
Dunno, no sign of Rick today. Rick, what happened? We also lost Jamie somewhere on stage 1 -- it's too bad you couldn't join us for the rest of the run! Hope you had fun for the first bit of it anyways BTW, did anyone notice Lucas with his orange jacket popping up in all kinds of unexpected places? You'd pass by Lucas snapping away at the cars passing by, then 10 minutes later he'd be on the side of the road ahead of you again! I tell you, he's like a magician! Looking forward to seeing some of his pics! I also have a short video clip of our trip through the tunnel -- the audio came out horrible, but I'll try and post it up...
Sorry fellas, i called Steve yesterday, between a cold i have been fighting since last week, and a sore back i wasnt up to a full day out. Too bad i missed out on the 722 and jamies CGT...but best of show still has to be Joes Murc for me. Dont know what it is but the Murc in yellow has got to be one of my favorite cars right now.
It was an amazing cruise today, thanks to Arshad and Mark for putting it together. Myself and my buddy Richard had a blast on it. Can't wait for the next one
Arshad ..... just wanted to say what a great event! And, luckily, I'm the one Black Porsche that didn't get pulled over! Fantastic road trip, great company at lunch and nice to make some new friends.
Sounds like you got all the luck you need, be safe and have fun Rob. Cheers !! PS...the harder you work , the luckier you get
Just an awesome day! Thanks so much to Arshad and Mark for putting together such an amazing cruise. It's always a pleasure to go driving on some of the best twisties around here. It's twice the pleasure to do it with great company with great cars. Lunch was delicious as was the wine. If any of you out there are into wine, I was impressed with Strewn's '98 Cabernet Franc. It's big big big! For those of you not able to come out this time, don't get the wrong impression with the cars pulled over. This time out everyone I was around was driving responsibly, which was good to see. Looking forward to the pics. Thanks again guys!
I second all of that! The entire day was alot of fun and I'm already looking forward to the next event. And once again, thanks very much Arshad for the amazing ride! Joe, my pictures should be up within the next day or so. I've got some really nice shots of your car in particular...
Joe I remember telling you about a picture under the bridge. I just had to post it for some reason this picture makes me smile...a lot! Enjoy! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Wow, nice picture Thomas! Here's a pic I like from the starting staging lineup off Centerview that one of the NSX guys posted: Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hmmm, so was traffic slowing down because of the line of Porsche's or the blonde? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hey when did Lucas trade in his Grand Marquis for a 430? Also a pic of the 722 (and a limited edition Ron Fellows C6 Z06 behind it), and the Hennessey Viper with camera setup ... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes, the paint and the rims really make that car stand out....especially in the bright sunlight, the paint is almost luminescent!
That was great fun, thanks for setting that up! We somehow missed the turn back onto the Linc. and then got tangled up in a cop convoy clearing stuff off the 403.
Except for the meeting with Mr. OPP which was clearly discriminating, four black Porsches hmmmm, the cruise was a blast. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Just wanna give a thank you to Mark and Arshad for organizing a fandamtastic day! Maria and I had a great time, some awesome cars, and very well organized. I loved the Niagara on the lake part best, and going through Niagara Falls was great, everyones heads were turning, and lots of people were takin gpictures, (asI would have been too if I saw a line of cars like these!) it was an awesome sight! Looking forward to the next cruise! -Corrado
It was nice to meet you guys at the start yesterday...I had to run to a funeral and it lasted longer than I anticipated...looked like lots of fun that's for sure. Hopefully their will be another cruise soon...and lets just hope I won't be wearing a suit and tie to that one!! Eddy
Just wondering...how did they pull over all 4 Porsche's? I only see one OPP car? Not saying that I'd make an attempt to get away or anything...but usually I'd just kinda let the OPP follow me for a little while to verify it's me they're after and that would perhaps let the other 3 cars in the convoy escape? Oh well...guess that's why I have a few more tickets than I really should. At least they didn't issue any big tickets.
I'd like to thank Ashad and Mark for taking the time and effort for orgazing a wonderfull day! Thanks again!
It happened right in front of me....allow me to explain. Traffic was already snarled, as is usual on the 403/QEW to Niagara on a Saturday afternoon. Apparently, someone had called in complaining about a "black Porsche"...and probably gave a rough location and heading...it wouldn't have been too hard for the Cops to figure out where they were heading. With the traffic moving at a snails pace, the cop simply walked out into traffic from the side of the highway and flagged/pulled them over one by one...letting any other type of exotic pass. The black Porsches were grouped fairly close together, so it was over in a couple of minutes. It seems everytime we go on one of these cruises, with sections through small communities like Forks of the Credit or old Dundas, there are alot of locals that seem to confuse loud exhaust noise for excessive speed. With all the Lambos, F-cars,NSXs and Porsches (not to mention the Vettes and Vipers), with a probable majority of aftermarket exhausts, the noise (and evil sport car looks) must have set some locals off. For example, there was this one old guy (just near the church...) standing out on the road, writing down license plates as fast as he could, I watched him for almost a full minute. It didn't seem to matter to him that most of the cars passed him at a crawl (due to the tightly knit group of 70 cars plus, the traffic/stop sign, and the narrow roads), he wrote them down anyways. In fact, the old man was standing out just in front of a stop sign we had to all stop at! How fast could these cars get in appx 20 feet ?!? Give me a break.... Anyways, it was a unique last couple weeks in Ontario, owing to the recent racing and speeding fatalities. I assume the cops were more prone to act on even the vaguest of reports of speeding. All it takes is one pissed of old man with nothing better to do on a gorgeous Saturday afternoon. Jeez.....
??? Why merge two completely seperate and unrelated threads (except for the date in the title, if I recall correctly...) OOOPS, somebody better put a lock on the "Saturday July 7, Ferrari's and more leaving from Leonardo Da Vinci center" thread before it gets thrown in as well........ Unless, this was Vasco doing early morning F-chat maintenance after a little too much Saturday night in little Italy (festival time!!!)
