for a car? or in general. my favourite colour of all time is purple. for a car it depends on the body style and year of manufacture. no clear answer on that one for me.
it's so difficult to choose a favourite because of aforementioned points. were i to have a gun at my head, i'd have to say gunmetal grey metallic. that is totally rad for sports cars. particularly the GT-R.
My favorite colour in general is a dark blue like TDF blue. My favorite colour for a car is white but this does not look good on all Ferraris, so here is a list: 288gto - red Challenge Stradale - red 512TR - white 355 Spyder - yellow 355 Berlinetta - red 550 - TDF blue 360 - red or yellow Enzo - white 599 - black
no but there is a story to this if you're willing to read a long-winded account of what happened. it was repainted red with a BMW colour. it was originally factory red. but this is why it got repainted: i was about 18. the next door neighbors' mom was an alcoholic. one day, a weekend, i heard this commotion outside gathering in the cul-de-sac. i was in my room. i think my brother said "hey, you need to come out here. your car got hit." and i was quite surprised. so i go out to the front yard and before i get there, i see the son and the mom --the mom drunk-- yelling at each other. the mother was in a van (that was also red), with her son trying to coax her out of the driver's seat. it got very dramatic. i just sat there watching as i walked out onto the lawn and then to my car. so far, nothing looked bad on my car. and then i looked on the other side. it was totaled. she had taken the rear and crushed it in, notably the rear door (was a 4dr hatchback). at the time i lived in georgia and the law requires a police officer arrive at any accident to file a report. i needed this for insurance reasons, too. so we call the cops and wait. all the while there is a dramatic scene unfolding between the son and the mother (drunken) as people begin to convene in the cul-de-sac and on porches to watch. i'm just sort of in a surreal state of disbelief. my car was parked and got totaled. the cops arrive and they assess the damage on a cursory once-over but are more interested in taking care of the argument between mother and son. they soon discover she is drunk. she cannot walk a line, do much of anything, her speech incoherent. it is embarrassing for everyone. i grew up next to this family and she has babysat for us when we were kids. it's very sad. anyway, she becomes very belligerent. they must manhandle her as the ranting escalates, people all watching as the sun is now just beginning to set. handcuffs come out amid an awkward police intervention. she is arrested in the cul-de-sac! they put her in the cruiser and she is away. it's just unreal. anyway, the insurance company totaled the Chevette and gave me the blue book value. at the time, i was attached to the car so i requested her insurance company repair it. they agreed to pay out as much as it was worth blue book. thing is, a friend of the family was a body man, jerry key. he did insurance claims almost exclusively whilst repairing classics on the side. we had the insurance go through him, and he fixed all of the body panels and got a new rear door. it looked great in progress as i watched. but he said "chad, i have to repaint this whole car because i cannot get the new paint to match. this red has faded and is old. new paint will not match no matter how well i blend the area." so i was like "is that going to cost more or something?" he then said "well, you're lucky because i actually have some red paint left over from a BMW i just finished. so the paint itself is free, and it's not a big deal to just paint the outside of the car." so he painted the Chevette this bright BMW red that was so hot! the piece of **** Chevette actually looked stunning after he finished with it -better than it ever looked. it actually looked amazing and brought out something in the otherwise dull car. it was my "little red Chevette."
"What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?" That way you can mask the stone chips with a felt tip.
yes i have pics of it. i'd have to go an archaeological dig to find them, though. but i do have them.
hahahahahahaha i haven't seen that in years. mine was an '81. had a chrome grille, not blacked out. and had silver steelies and not blacked out ones. but was fire engine red. like WAY red. was a 4 speed manual with a moonroof. but that pic nearly depicts mine.
Giallo (yellow) for some reason cars look way better after youve gotten a ride in them That is true in both cases below Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
That car brought back memories of my college years in the 80's. My roommate had one and we would take it on road trips from Penn State to NYC (about 300 miles one-way). His was an orange color and 2 door. Check out the link and see how bad the car gets bashed http://www.raw.ags.autoblog.com/2006/04/24/chevrolets-vette-celebrates-30-years/
