Good to hear Rons OK. I've got a lead on a nice black BBi for him if needed. No more Massa snipes from me until Ron gets back in his corner.
Wow, I didn't know we had a presidential canditate on F-Chat, I am surprised the Media hasn't gone crazy about his crash.
I met "our Tifosiron" at Sebring this year and he's not the guy in the link! Hope you're doing much better Ron - hurry back, we miss you. Carol
Bernie is off my Xmas card list if he doesn't I sent him this email : Hi Bernie, Loved your last movie "Weekend at Bernie's XII" but could you write some more lines for yourself. Anyway Berns old mate, how about these McLaren boys, been doing some sneaky stuff without your knowledge , that's a few constructor's points down the gurgler for starters, then Lucifer is in that African river .... (denial you old coot, how many times do I have to tell you this joke, it ain't funny if it has to be explained!!) So, if you want to stay on my Xmas card list you better get over to Ronny Ds place and tell him the bad news, NO SOUP FOR YOU!!! FA and LH can go play in NASCAR for the rest of the year to keep their eye in but the F1 pool is off-limits. We've finally locked Kimi out of the liquor cabinet and he passes the sobriety test on the way to the track and has even stopped going to the McLaren check-in on race day so we're making HUGE steps with him. We even have Felipe Schumassa talking to him in email and they now know they are driving forthe same team ... like I said huge progress here. So, do the right thing Bernie and ban McLaren before I call the boys down south and the violin cases are loaded on the truck. Your great friend and admirer Jean PS Nigel sends his regards (whoever he is)
all the best and i hope your better soon. i know your speculating atm but i hope thats not the case, cos life savers or not they deserve to be sued if its true.
That was the first thing that came to mind when I read the thread title, and I was wondering why the hell it was in the racing section haha. Hopefully Ron's recovery is going well.
an example of why it's a good idea to continue onwards to the nearest exit or pull wayyyy off the road when stopping on an interstate hwy. Never know who's coming along... Ron probably pulled over a typical distance, but you just never know what's comin' at you. Sounds like he was very lucky/fortunate, which is good...
Ron is doing better and better every day. Unfortunately two wounds are not healing quite as well and he will undergo a skingrapht (sp?) this afternoon. The positive thing about that is, the wounds will heal faster that way than the natural way. With everything going all right he will be leaving the hospital by the end of the week and begin the road of recovery. I will have the daunting task of visiting the other victim in this accident, the one who did not fair as well as he did. We know already the 512BBi is gone for good but hope that at least the toolbox is "recoverable" along with a Ferrari Quilt in the front trunk.
That is not the question. Whatever they did to the car at that point did not make a difference if the car was salvagable or not. I will see it today and worst case, well rebody it as a 288GTO Evolution and hang it on the wall. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Andreas just PM'd me to find out the status on the other drivers that were involved in the accident. As far as we know they all walked away from the crash no problem. He was the only one that was admitted to the hospital. His surgery was just rescheduled since they had the helicpter come in with patients. We hope they will do it today since he is already prepped.
Aha. Obviously I misinterpreted your statement here: You were referring to the car, got it. Ron, get well soon!
Ron, I wish you a speedy recovery. Sorry about your car but those can be replaced. Get well quickly and get back on that keyboard, we miss you! John
Martin, thanks again on the update on Ron, please wish him the best from his friends on Ferrari Chat.
Hah just as I was thinking until he started talking about the car. Hope the surgery goes well and you get home soon.
good and bad news I see Martin, good that his injuries are less serious than incoming wounded but bad that he even needs the surgery. Skin grafts are painful , be careful of the painkillers Ron, they got me into trouble, get well
