Why are F430 headers so short in comparison to the 348, 355 and 360??

    Why are F430 headers so short in comparison to the 348, 355 and 360??

    I thought RPM tunning was what dictated the header length??

    I am starting to think tubing diameter, collector design, merge sequence and cross-sectional flow area are bigger factors than just tube length.

    The 430 revs just as high (8500 RPM) as the others I mentioned (except for the 348 ;) ), so what is your take??

    BTW for those not familar:

    1st pic is stock 355 header

    2nd pic is NA aftermarket header

    3rd pic is 360 stock header

    4th pic is the stock 'short' 430 header in question

    1st off, Where is the 348 motor????? You are stating 348,355,360,430, yet no 348 engine pic??? get with it ;)
