Frankly ridicolous, this automatic gearbox. And the insturment panel is horrible.
The exterior is quite acceptable, being a kit car...the proportions obviously are a lot smaller than a real 512BBi.

    But the inside is ridiculous.

It looks like a 512 SSWB (super-short wheelbase). The dimensions never really work because the Fiero is a short car compared to Ferraris. Also, the interior sucks although the Daytona-style seats are nice.

Is it my imagination, or did they attach the "Boxer" body panels on top of the Fieros? Look at the photos with the bonnet raised.

edit: nevermind...it's an insert to make the panels fit correctly.

If it was behind me or I was approaching it from behind it would have me fooled.
Kinda looks like the water was too hot when they washed it and it shrunk just a bit.
It would be fun to buy it and show up with it to events instead of my car just to screw with people.

The fact that someone went to all that trouble is simply amazing...

could have bought a real 308 for the cost of the build and had a ferrari in the end.

    msdesignltd,

Please, Pamela Anderson has more aftermarket parts on her than most ricers. Also, I think she's due for an overhaul ;) .

    Lightguy,

As Fiero-Ferrari replica/conversions go, it's not bad, but what's the point? You can buy a 308 in similar condition for the same price (it will cost you more to fix but you will be putting money into the real thing rather than a fake).

Also, I think the final year of the Fiero, the GT version with a 5-speed and bigger engine, looks better than the conversion in the ebay auction.

    Murph,

I think you found the best use for the car :)

    Regards,

    Art S.

Now, THAT was nervy! But so's this: I agree wholeheartedly. Now for the real shocker - - I've owned two late 88 GT's with the Getrag 5 speed (one was red with tan leather, not too bad a combo) and they were quick, fun little cars. Air worked, windows worked, car was dead reliable.

Their 0-60 times were in the Dino-ish range and their handling (greatly revised for 88) was quite respectable. Sure, the rest of the car NEVER got much respect, but I'm telling you, if you get the chance to drive one at night when your friends won't see you, you'll be in for a surprise.

I also thought the engine compartment and rear styling was especially pleasing. Considering the ebay 'boxer' that started all this, I'd have preferred a stock 88 GT, and hang the Boxer parts (Corson kit?) on the wall to look at them.
