Why does the seats in my CS vary? Are they all like this? The driver seat has 2 large holes only and the passenger seat has two large ones and a smaller one right underneath the big ones?

    TIA Peter

Simple answer.... the passenger seat has the extra hole for believe it or not a "baby seat"!!! I guess when your doing some hot laps at the ring of your choice it is important Junior is strapped in properly. Dont forget the Kiddy nomex either!

That was required at least in the US to attach a child seat. There is a mount behind the hole on the back wall. I think it is in the manual or was an add on sheet.

    Stradale's rule!!!

No, that is the truth and some owners complained at the time. They didn't want the hole, but the DOT is the DOT. Air bag issues and all.

    Sad but true!
And the madness continues....The optional racing seats found in the 430 were not in compliance with DOT regulations with respect to the baby seat so as of '06 Ferrari was forced to remove them from the option list. Hope they were able to reconfigure this for the US 430 whatever Light.

The third hole has a hook point behind it that disactivates the airbag......

    Vive l'Europe!!!

With regard to seat size: there are different sizes available - just like a T shirt!!

I was told that if you have the proper child seat that fits through that hole and clips to the back it will disable the passenger air bag. It is a Euro feature, I believe it is not US DOT legal as the US child seat rear buckles aren't the same and will not fit through that hole. I have my US Recaro seat clipped to the back but using the larger safety harness holes, and 3 pt belt to secure the bottom part of the seat. With the passenger seat all the way back and the little guy in the child seat, he is as far away from the air bag as possible. With the rear attached the the back buckle and 4 pt harness on him, he can't really move forward.

He loves riding in the CS. He is only 19 months old now, but hasn't been in the car for a few months...

    GUys,

I applaud F for the feature. while my son is too big now, the feature was key in a string of Porsches when he was little, and P had no auto airbag off feature for a while which was really a PITA.

Besides, be glad you have these racing seats, you'll never see them again
