Wouldnt it be refreshing if the auction catalog represented it accurately exactly as youve just stated? If its a "nice to maybe very nice driver" then it will bring "nice to very nice driver" money, dont you agree? We will soon find out what that is, providing the car turns out upon independent inspection to indeed be a nice driver. Now we are getting somewhere... At any rate, Russo & Steele provide several days to inspect the cars and I would reccomend that a "survivor condition" car should be inspected very closely, as Im sure you would do if you were buying one. Wouldnt you? Joe www.joesackey.com
So, lets review: - Shady Saudi Arms Merchant (doesnt mention anything about oil Steve). - Iran/Contra scandal. - BCCI bank scandal. - Obstruction of justice. - Mail fraud. - Securities fraud. A charming resume.... The reason I am making a big deal about this is in post # 2799 Steve Maman comes on here bragging & boasting that he has the all-important ownership link of his car to Khasshoggi stating with unbridled childish glee: "good thing I got that document". Of course Roy chimes in next similarly... Then, by post # 2806, Steve Maman does a complete reversal stating: "who cares about the whole story around the car?" One minute he has secured the missing historic Holy Scripture. The next minute its worthless. LOL. Indeed it is. These events have a way of speaking for themselves.... Hey Steve, you did not answer the question about the Reserve set for the car. Obviously it could not sell at $394k so what's next? Joe www.joesackey.com
As will any Mercedes 540k since there are so few of them. Hitler's provenance raised not a penny more for the car, but rather the buyer paid for a rare 540k, the only one available at the time. At the auction's inspection period, the car was revealed to be an excellent example and the price reflected this. Joe www.joesackey.com
Brian, I promised last week I would refer to my Countach archives for the original factory log for your car and here it is: Countach no - 257 (257th Countach built) Telaio - 1121214 (chassis number) Colore esterno - "Rame Colorado Metalizzatto" (Colorado Copper metallic) Colore interno - "Naturale" (Natural) The records go on to state that your car was completed on the 20th of September 1980 and I beleive I have a note somewhere that it is the last car completed under the auspices of the original Automobili Ferruccio Lamborghini company, before it changed its name to Nuova Autombili Lamborghini SpA. The car is noted as having been supplied to EmilianAuto in Bologna. Hope this helps... Joe www.joesackey.com
I HIGHLY dought that, but only the buyer knows for sure...AND of course all the bidders involved... I WILL not belive that the car had HITLER sitting in it had NO PLAY what so ever on the price....total BS...OF COURSE it did....common sense says that.. Last Year DR PHILS 360 Ferrari GOT more money than ANY should at the auction....why...because DR Phil owned it... Celb owned cars may not mean much to some, but THEY DO and HAVE and always WILL bring money from some one for them. But the only way to tell will be on the up coming August nite auctions...either way, for me, its the fun, excitment and the "unkown" of these auctions that I deal with them...but to each his own... I look at auctions like gambling...go in with what you can afford to loose and still walk out with a smile, then it is fun...extras are just cream!!
Do you know what the Hitler 540K sold for relative to the highest price for a 540k? Have you done your homework? I doubt it. It had no influence on the price paid as some people were turned on by the history but most were turned off. We are not talking about an upstanding celebrity like Dr Phil or Bill Gates. We are talking about death merchants and crooks. Zero added value to the price of a Countach at auction. Joe www.joesackey.com
Here we go again, with your slide little slams to other people without respect...the JOE way or now way.... I was just pointing out my thoughts IMO as you have yours... There IS NO way to say you or I are correct, we both have different opinions... The only know factor will be if the successful bidder AND others bidders on the car would come forward after the process and gives us insight to their reason for bidding...if it did or did not play a part... I for one am not going to be so CONFIDENT of my self to state FOR FACT that it will or will not play a part....just pointing out would the possabilitys are... Hell WHO knows, maybe Heather Lockler will step up and buy it for the "memorys" LOL LOL There is no way ANYONE can make a FACTUAL statement on the value of the previous ownership till its all done....at least IMO... But again your on both sides of the fence, I guess it safest that way... YOUR OWN POST # 3264 this thread "Can anyone tell us if he owned it or not and if he did what documentation supports that assertion? I ask simply because I have a party that would be an interested buyer at a real market price." I get so confused, I can never figure out what team you own...LOL LOL Maybe like most "Professionls Players" the one that PAYS the most, regardless of the "fans"...???
I just want everyone to know that my lp 400 was owned by the prince of denmark (thats me) and the king of pork (thats me). if anybody needs paperwork I don't have it but I can give autographs but I must charge for it
Thats Heather Mills, Roy, not Heather Locklear..... homework again. What respect should be shown? I thought 2 posts ago you said my comments were "total BS". BTW, the interested party did go and buy something else - he felt any possible Khassoggi link would be a minus. Lets reserve judgement till 'inspection day'.... Joe www.joesackey.com
Maybe this will help. One Size, Fits All Why on earth would someone pay extra for a car that Dr Phil farted in? Image Unavailable, Please Login
for sale for quite a while ? car landed last week ! how about you write a check for it joe ? how much....make a public offer on this forum .
No Ive seen this car advertised for sale for $394k for several months. Ask your freind Roy. He will confirm in case you dont know who has your car listed. Thanks for the offer, BUT I will pass on this particular car. Joe www.joesackey.com
now you see it... with lots of effort,he attempted to get the car ,....even after i tell him i own it ! if it were him that would have bought it, you would have " the very best for sale " ...since i bought it, you have a "doubtful car " for sale...whatever is his is the best..whatever is someone elses is not good... joe sackey, put your money where your mouth is : make a public offer and buy the car if i say yes.... now lets see if you are ready to shoot yourself in the foot in public to he actual values of these cars you claim they are actually worth ....HOW MUCH ? if you offer too low, expect everyone to know your b.s when selling these cars.... if you overpay, you will help the value of these cars continue to appreciate.... IF YOU DONT PUT AN OFFER DOWN, YOU END UP BEING BIG TALK, NO ACTION ..... i steve maman ,for one knows i write the check on the spot when i can get my hands on something i love ...which for you is an lp400 ...for me a f40,959,real estate ! HOW MUCH ? dont worry about roy, i'll take care of him.... what are these cars worth joe ? what is this car worth joe ? what is it worth to a guy who claims to control the market and values of these cars ? a few here knew you were waiting for the right moment and time to hit on all the cars going to auction....at russo ...since none was yours, since they were going to dictate the true market value at auction, you figures you needed to get ready to kill the cars so if they did bad, then the cars were not representative of the true values ! someone who sells cars as the best, then modify the info later ..then come out with colorchanges stories later after they got paid... how credible can those people be... but, i am waiting to hear from your offer .
it is funny you want to pass on the car that you can still steal ! you tried so hard to get it ovearseas..until weeks ago...or maybe a little longer..i was still hearing of your attempts out of bahrain...
Steve, honestly, like everybody in the USA, I dont want nor need a RHD car! Sorry. Joe www.joesackey.com
