He will most likely not do time. If things are handled in Atlanta he will skate, Arthur Blank has way to much invested to let anything happen to him. I say only in Atlanta because he has a good amount of pull here but not much else where. I really hope he is held accountable for his actions and is not allowed to skate. I really would like to see him go down, most of all because I've had to deal with Arthur Blanks lawyers before (no specifics, I won) and I love the thought of him losing tremendous amounts of money on his star player. That and torturing animals for entertainment is sick.

Any bets that all the legal wrangling, court appearances, and trail occur in the offseason?

I hope all the defensive players he face are dog lovers, and he is 'accidentally' roughed up. A lot.

8 that they think they can tie him to. I am certain that the actual number is significantly higher.

I doubt we'll hear Clinton Portis run his mouth any more...

Not a fan of Vick. I thought only the little brother (Marcus) was stupid though??? Does anyone have program to see how far back the family tree goes to tie him to Maurice Clarett?

Why would the trial be in Atlanta? I'm no lawyer, but the charges are coming out of Virginia, not Atlanta. Shouldn't his trial be in Virginia? Again, I know little of this, but it doesn't seem fair to try someone at home for the crimes they commited elsewhere. Any lawyers out there?

Vick is a disgrace to the Falcons, the NFL and Atlanta. Did you guys read about how cruel and vicious those a-holes were to those dogs? It makes me beyond sick. I am so pissed off.

People who abuse or hurt animals are the lowest form of scum on this planet. I HOPE TO GOD he does time and gets raped in prison on a daily basis.

Adding to Vick's problems are accounts that he gambled large sums of money at these dog fights. Large-scale gambling by football players draws interest from three-lettered organizations: N.F.L., and I.R.S.

Local clout won't cut it on this one. This is Federal, with interstate violations. Far beyond something that can be swept away by local insiders.

Maybe they can get Duante Culpepper - just heard Miami decided to release him because they finally figured out he was untradable under that contract...

Michael Vick is a disgusting excuse for a human being. Hopefully this coward will be convicted along with his 3 other coward friends quickly so that an example can be set. I hope Nike gets enough grief over this scumbag that they cut him off pronto, not releasing the Vick V is not enough. I also hope enough people boycott Home Depot to let the owner of the Falcons know that he needs to do the right thing and get rid of this sick coward. The atrocities he has allegedly committed to these poor animals is sickening and disturbing that such vile humans are in our society. Time for society to hit this loser where it hurts, in the pcoket book, no more $$$, no more Vick.

I don't think the trial would be held anywhere near Atlanta. To the best of my knowledge the federal trial will be held at a federal curcuit court near Surrey Co. (probably DC as I don't think Virginia has any). Any forthcoming local charges will be handled in Surrey Co courts, and eventually the State Supreme Court as he will undoubtedly appeal.

Nike will wait till there is more of an official word on his fate. But no one will want to associate with him once he is convitcted.

I find this whole situation to be very sad for many reasons, not only for the animals he has harmed, but also for his fans and for the sport. It always amazes me how celebraties and athletes can f up such a great thing that htey have going.

The Falcons can have Brunell, I want him to stay the hell away from Washington, I don't even like the idea of him ever having the chance to play for the Skins again.

He'll probably be going to Federal pound-me-in-the-ass Prison.

Not to mention the fact that many wonder how a quarterback with a rating of less than 75 and 40 sacks could possibly be worth 130 million + signing bonus + all this trouble.

    NFL action or not.

He has to be in court July 26 - first day of Atlanta's training camp...

Also, I heard that there were conspiracy charges against him. That would mean that even if he didn't actually kill the dogs, but one of his co-conspirators did, he would be held liable. I could be wrong -- I'm not a lawyer -- but I heard that on TV today.

So sad for the dogs. Absolute cruelty. :(

I don't know how people like Clinton Portis can defend him. Portis should go to jail for even *thinking* it's okay.
