What's up with these Myspace friend requests?

I get them too, they are just spam for porn sites. When you get them instead of clicking "deny" click "mark as spam".

Just another reason to delete you account and make friends in the real world.

 

Those websites just need to die. All they are for anyway are for kids to passively brag about how they do cooler things with cooler people than old friends they don't actually talk to anymore but still stalk each other. It the new modern way of the old tradition of "driving a Ferrari to their high school reunion to get back at that guy that bullied you or that hot girl that wouldn't go out with you". lol

 

unless your talking to actual friends on there, it's a "waste-of-space"

I like myspace for the messaging and I do communicate to real friends through myspace. You can set it up so that if someone want to send you a request they need to know your last name. I got fed up with the porn request so thats what I did, works like a charm

 

I don't have a myspace account, but used to have a facebook account. My friend said I should join facebook so I opened and account and looked around. I didn't "get it" because I just call up or e-mail the people I know so I deleted it then. I still don't get that crap...

 

Facebook was fun until I realized I had no friends.

Now I just hang around on F-Chat.....

 

I also hate how people can customize myspace because most people make it the ugliest page that plays obnoxious music. Facebook is alot cleaner and more private and just more pleasant in general.

 

There are automated bots that people run which go through a randomly generated e-mail address list to find myspace accounts and friend-request-spam them. I found one such program a few weeks back.. customer of my hosting company was running one and I just happened to spot it. Terminated their ass instantly

Always some hot girl with only one or two pics in her profile? ...careful, some of the scammers are infecting MindlessSpace. Here is a letter I got from one of these so-called darlings on my account;

MySpace has become pretty handy for criminal research...

A murder/rape victim in Crystal Beach last weekend had a page so we could see who she was.....move her over to MyDeadSpace now, I suppose.

Yea, I created an account with no info, to look at a friend's page and now I get all those requests....a bummer.

There are other, BETTER social networks that are completely devoid of that kind of nonsensical spam and you can communicate with real, like-minded people.

You guys need a dummy e-mail address (hotmail-yahoo-gmail) as a secondary - one you never do anything with, just for validating this type of crap.

 

Well you can turn off the e-mail notifications entirely if you want to, however when a "real" friend of mine sends me something I do want to have the e-mail... so its just a matter of them filtering out the spam.

 

Hmm...HMMM...I wonder what it is.

 

I wonder, too but I know for a fact that it doesn't yield any of the silly, pre-teen crap with which these guys are dealing.
