Now you know why I pimp NYMC relentlessly. These runs are some of the best organized and executed I have ever had the pleasure of participating in. The roads, the resteraunts, and the people are always top notch. Even my wife enjoyed stopping by and meeting some of these people.

All members are screened, including a review of their current driving history (I believe one applicant was denied because it was found his license was suspended), so it's not just about getting as many people to join to rake in the entry fees. The end result is that you get a great group of responsible people. This is important when you are out on the road driving at some crazy tripple digit speed.

I think if you ask any member, they will re-affirm that there really just is no comparison to a run put together for fun. These guys are pros, they have a budget to spend on events, they have a staff, and they have the time to do it right.

naveed, I agree with you that the runs look like alot of fun and stuff, but just knowing you are on the board of NYMC it make it kinda hard to not take what you are saying with a grain of salt.

Its like me going around and telling people our multimedia work is the best out there. Im not saying I dont;) but its hard when its coming from someone who is involved in the organization.

P.S. I dont think my driving record would let me join NYMC;)

Your driving record may suck, but your Evo would earn you an automatic rejection :). And while I do appreciate Naveed's ringing (and unprompted) endorsement, it's not like he's a paid employee or anything. The role of the board is to give me good ideas for events and to approve or reject new members, not to advertise. Speaking of which, Im gonna quit before this starts to sound like advertising. I just wanted to post some entertaining video.

I am on the board, but I recieve no compensation (other then a free meal every now and then) and I pay my dues in full. The position is really an honorary one, we vote on approving members and give suggestions for runs. There are 5 board members, and next year the members must vote new board members in. So honestly, I have nothing to gain by bringing more people over, other then getting as many people as I know here who I am friendly with over to NYMC, so I can enjoy their company on the runs. That's it.

Think of me as an unpaid volunteer, who is just looking to spread the good word. Think of NYMC as the equivalent of a golf or country club for guys with cars, except without all the pomp and ceremony.

That was simply a great run, very well organized and a friggin' riot with some great people and a wonderful assortment of great cars. 5AM may seem early but it is by far the best time to do this.

After the last run though I keep having this recurring thought... I need more motor... I need more motor. It maybe time to up the anti a bit with a 600hp/550lb.tq 496 stroker build to push the ole. 4200 sled along.

Problem with turbo's on a big block is too much much plumbing and too much heat. I'm thinking big cube torque monster stroker, plus it's cheaper to build...
