Thanx, just like my Swiss spec. What is the number on top of your warm up regulator (the aluminum cast box like thing with wire connection and vacuum lines, mounted just ahead of the oil filler cap next to the plenum. should be something like cast in # 0 438 140 and then a stamped in 083 or 116 or ?.

Yes, Yes. By all means! I should have included the GTSIs !! Many of the Mondial kit parts will bolt right on to the 2V motor, but the engine compartment clearance and bracketing will be 3X8 GTS/GTB specific. The kit for the 2V cars will be a mix of parts already done for the Mondial and brackets and such which we are developing on my car. So all the info I requested applies to the 2V cars as well.

    Thanx,

    -Lou

    I hate this thread :)

Used to be the 2V injected cars were the slowest...now they are going to be on par with a 355. We carb'd guys need a lot more massaging to squeeze out a few more ponies out of our engines. Oh well, at least we got the induction sound.

Thanx. OK, so it looks like the Swiss and German Euro QVs have a 116 WUR, where as the US cars have a 083.

You might want to fill out your profile so we all can get a sense of who/where you are ! Love to see a picture of what I assume is a German spec 308QV GTB ? (bet you have those cool little grills in the side scoops) Pic of the engine compartment would be helpful also.

Thanx Chris, pics to follow later today, a couple shots of your engine compartment (from above plenum, and looking from the right rear fender toward the coolant tank) would be helpful also.

funny you mention that, I went last night with a f-chatter here to go pick up his new toy, a F355. I have no trouble reeling him in on runs, it's neat to have an old slow mondi run a 355 :D

I would like to subscribe but insist on sending in a check, whats the address? My car is a GTS and has the screens on the scoops, Ive had it 17 yrs and had 330GTCs before. Im completing a service where I replaced the starter, feul pump, accumulator, pipe, all water and feul lines, belts and tensioners etc,and chromed every fastener,Im also big on acorn nuts. It is stripped and the only thing left to pitch is the console and pass seat.17,000 miles. I would like to Girodisc but hate the rear calipers ,also like to change to adj coil overs .I live on a ranch and the mile and a quarter road is so rough I dont bring it out much.I live near Austin Texas and in 1990 I passed the entire Porko Club on the Volente Highway, 2222.I hate pork products.

I am rebuilding and modifying a "086" type control regulator for Lou now, we think this may be the final piece of his kit.

Here is what we do to them for supercharged CIS cars:
    http://www.928motorsports.com/parts/cisreg.php

If it works in the Ferrari application like it does in our Porsche kits, I'll probably end up including one in each Ferrari 308 kit.

    Update on my fuel system.

While I am waiting for the Uber modded 086 control pressure reg from Carl @ 928Motorsports, I have been tinkering with some e-bay purchased WURs and talking with Larry Fletcher RE: system pressures and volume, having the CIS in stock specs before looking for changes, etc.

I have a boost sensitive 094 Audi Turbo WUR that works fairly well, but even with boost enrichment, and my CIS control pressure in spec, I am leaning out still at high rpm.

Current state of fuel system see below:

094 WUR and fuel delivery specs as confirmed on car now:

    control pressure @ 75 degrees ambient :

    cold--------------------- 1.8 bar / 26psi
    warm---------------------3.6bar / 52psi

    w/ 8psi applied to boost port on 094-------1.7bar / 24psi (boost enrichment !)

fuel pump pressure 100+ psi (off the scale, so much for that gauge)

    fuel system pressure (@ distributor) 5.2bar / 74psi ( 2.9bar/41psi resting pressure @ 20 minutes)

fuel system volume 850cc per 30 second test (1700cc per min, post cis, engine not running)

The above info tells me that I may have a fuel delivery volume issue (30 second test should yield 1100cc min, I believe) and street WOT 4th gear runs with data logging confirm a boost enrichment to 10.5:1 @ 5000 rpm, 6psi boost. The A/F then climbs in direct relation to boost and RPM to 14.5:1 @ 6400 rpm, 8.2 psi boost.
2.26 seconds later just as I am off the throttle and on the clutch, the boost is 9.14 psi @ 6600rpm A/F is through the roof @ 16+:1 !!

I plan to check my fuel system for obstruction, change the fuel filter and re-test the fuel delivery volume. I don't really want to mess with the pump and or fuel distributor, but if the volume does not improve with the the filter change and system checks, I may have to go there, at least to get into stock Ferrari spec RE: volume.

    Comments welcome. Larry? anyone?

Would love to, soon as I figure out how to save them back in a format I can post (some help there appreciated if you know the easy route). Guess I could scan my printouts into jpg, at least. PM me with any thoughts there, also I could send you run files you could replay and view with your LM-1 software.

    Lou,

I had sent you a few private messages but I never heard from you. In the 930 Porsche, they will typically not delivery enough fuel if the boost is increased. Imagine Auto does a fuel head modification to increase fuel delivery for these cars. In addition, Brian Leask (Spelling could be wrong) does a modified WUR to balance out other fuel parameters. I know this is a turbo porsche and not a 308, but there is far more data out there for this car since it is a "boosted car." Your ride may fall in to this now. Check with Stephen at imagine auto to see if you learn anything else.

Not to dis-regard your input and PM, but I can't go in the stage 2 super-mod direction until we establish a bolt on kit using as much stock equip as possible, etc. I know of the electronic programmable WUR, and Larry Fletcher (who I am in com with) is the man who mods the fuel distributors for the Porsche boys. It is my understanding that if all is working in spec, a Euro non lambda fuel distributor should work fine up to 10psi boost with proper control pressure differentials. I must follow all avenues to confirm I am in stock spec for the "bolt on" kit.

    Update.

Fuel lines checked and blown out CIS to accumulator, replaced fuel filter ( the one I removed seemed pretty restrictive on a blow through test compared with the new unit). Rechecked fuel volume twice, picked up 50cc. Fuel volume is now @ 900cc in 30 seconds. Don't think that will make a significant difference, but we shall see when I road test with the laptop on board.

Just a thought. It seems to me that almost 2 liters per minute @ 74psi is pretty f***ing stout fuel delivery to the CIS ? At that rate of delivery, if the motor could use it, I should run my fuel tanks dry in about 20 minutes of high rpm driving ?! ( do the math, thats 3 mpg @ 80 mph, or 15 laps @ Willow Springs per full tank of gas ) Leads me to believe the issue is a still a control pressure/fuel distributor/injector capacity deficiency. Really looking forward to Carl's modded WUR to take the control pressure issue out of the equation for certain.

Next up for me is to check fuel pump amps under load to confirm that is in spec and its not underperforming or overworking, and of course do a logged road test.

Would really like to read some comment on fuel pump performance specs from some of you experts.
