Hi All, Got a few scratches reparied on my 355's wheel this week and the guy who did it (VERY good with wheels and knows Ferraris) said that the "aluminum inserts" for the lugs were showing some cracking. Does anyone know where i get replacements for these? I tried Daniel but I didn't see anything nor did the parts manual show them... Thoughts? What am I looking for?
I love this site... http://www.hill-engineering.co.uk/ferrari-miscellaneous.htm First one on the list on this page...
Brian - I have them in stock here. Give us a call or drop an email. (Website seems to be running very slow this morning) The part number is WI-355 http://www.ricambiamerica.com/product_info.php?products_id=224405
I have a couple of questions on these wheel inserts: 1- Has anyone replaced their inserts with the Hill Engineering ones? 2- Anyone have any proceedures on how to replace? 3- Is there any machining work that needs to be done in order for the insert to be mounted? 4- Will the torque value on the lug nuts remain the same on these replacements? Thanks in advance for the input!
Well well well......seems like I posted something about these inserts cracking. Thought everone said this was a non issue??? Daniel should be able to give you the replacement procedure. If not contact Hill Engineering.
You did say so Bruce as have some others in the past . Like you said why would hill eng. make them to begin with...... .....
this is interesting. are these inserts stuck to the wheels or do they come loose? Can someone show a picture of what they look like mounted on the wheel?
They are basically an interferance fit collard sleeve with lug bolt taper receptacle to strengthen and protect the magnesium from the lug bolt.
thanks! for a moment there I thought my wheel saga of putting 355 wheels on the 348 was due to not having these inserts, but I just popped a bolt and verified that I do. They are firmly stuck on the wheels.
