If I do opt for the Alcantara carpeting and floor mats would I be able to clean them with any wet cleaners. or would stand the water drops from the rain when entering the car. Thanks for your help

The alcanatara in my Stradale cleans easily with a damp cloth. It seems like it is already treated from the factory. Any stains simply wipe off. I would imagine any alcantara ordered from the factory would be pre-treated to allow for easy cleaning (especially carpeting and mats).

So should I go for it or not for my 612?

IMHO, I think the 612 deserves leather.

Not for carpet if you use it as a car.
Not bad to clean, google alcantara for the manufacturer's website, has care instructions easily printed.
I have it all over my 599, and several other cars. Headliner, decks, inserts, all low maintenance. They wouldn't do my dash on 599 in alcantara, likely due to fading seen in some Stradales.
I use mine to haul kids, in rain, etc., so it is atypical use. YMMV.

If you do go for the alcantara and you're a nit-picky person when it comes to keeping it clean, an easy way to take off any lint or other particles that get stuck to it is to use one of those sticky "pet-hair" rollers that you would use on clothes. Works well!

well what do you plan on spilling? ;) it should be washable for water spots, soda, etc... I you dont mind me saying so, my dad's esclade for the winters has suede/alcantara inserts on the seats and on the headliner, and like I said, He drives it in the winter, in michigan, in 2 foot snow, walks over a dirt patch to get to the car..... you get the picture, If theres mud on it, it comes right off. Dont worry, alcantara is very cleanable but its some elbowgrease.
