I always wonder if these famous folk really have a passion for their cars or if they just have them because they're the most expensive thing on wheels they can buy. If they're looking for expensive someone should turn them on to the vintage exotic market. I can see it now. Cribs w/ Diddy......It's time to see the garage. I think I remember seeing him on some show like Cribs where he said the car was made for a video and is now essentially useless. They tried to get the prototype from Rolls, and when they said no, they bought a Phantom and made it look the part.

As a producer/writer, if you got a hit record out you're taking in at least $50K a week. Storch usually has 30-50 a year, so do the math on that one. Thing is in 15 years he probably won't be taking much in. Unlike, for instance, Phil Spector or Sir George Martin who's music is still being played on the radio and albums are still being sold, I don't think much of Storch's music will be around in 20 years. We'll see though.

    $50K X 52 weeks = $2,600,000 X 30 a yr. = $78,000,000 (78 million)...Yowzers, if thats right, where do I sign up!

Not quite :) That only happens while your song is #1, so figure about 5-30 weeks a year with a hit or 3 at #1, if your Storch or Pharrell, or the Matrix or Timbaland or Wycleff or Dre, etc.

The number changes a lot too by your involvement with the song. Sometimes it's low, like $1,000 a week, sometimes it's higher. Also the uses of the song factor in. Being a #1 hit opens a lot of doors for other media outlets. People buy songs for all kinda things :)

Storch probably pulled a few mill a year for the last few years easily. More like 5-7, maybe more than that. Just guessing here.

I did some digging and found out a little more about the chopped up phantom.

It was created for the rapper Stack$ to be in his video for "MIA". Theres a rather funny scene about mid video of Stack$ going into the Rolls Royce dealer and asking for a convertible Phantom. You can see it here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M1mP6xEpplI

The cost was $400,000 plus the original cost for the Phantom.

As stated before, the car is now more or less useless.

There's a coachbuilder who has done conversions on Phantoms and Maybachs: http://www.vgdauto.com/# There used to be a whole load more pics and info on their site but currently it is saying the site is under construction.
