Any F car owners in Iran on F-chat?

I'm going to Iran for the first time in 25 years in mid August. I wanted to know if there are any fellow chat member's in Tehran.
Pardon my ignorance as I'm new to this specific thread.

 

Well, i know of somebody who had a 360 few years ago there. It's pretty hard to find nice sportcars there (due to the 3l engine restriction) . There are few lamborghinis owned by friends of mine. If you want to take a spin i can give you the contacts. Also, i might come end august. PM me.

 

There might be. Most of these cars have temporary tags on them and are actually registered somewhere else like UAE or Turkey where the owners have a 2nd home. When they come to Tehran for the summer to escape the heat or to visit family, etc. they will get temporary plates and run with them, paying on a month-to-month basis.

A very good friend of my cousins has a gold Lamborghini Murcielago roadster, he brought the car to Tehran for a while, and his friend brought a red one too, from Dubai and they drove them around with those temporary tags on them.

It's tough to drive a car like that in the city, tons of people and careless drivers just trying to catch a glimpse or take a picture with a camera phone, not to mention if you park it out somewhere, you need to constantly worry about vandalism.

 

yes the Lambos. The red one was totalled and the gold was sold. They were on temp plates.

 

any idea what happened to the red murci? did it have any parts that was able to be salvaged?

The only car I saw worth mentioning in Tehran during the 3 months I was there was a Porche Boxter in Jadeh Chaloos.

As econ getting better in Iran, people are getting extremely wealthy. With the GDP going up and inflation going down, in a few years you should see cars appearing in Iran first, then in Dubai and lastly in USA lol.

There are many Gallardos In Iran now. I guess they just found out that there is a cheaper lamborghinis.

There is an Enzo in Kish, it was transported there soon after being delivered...it was probably the 1st exotic in all of Iran.

Iran has that 1.2 Rule. You pay the price of the car + Price of the car again (As In tax This time) + Profit for the person who brings it. That's why Honda accords or Camries that are max 20K here are selling as much as 60-80K in Iran.

If there is an Enzo in Iran, i wonder how much the buyer had to pay. That is some serious cash. But then, Kish is kinda wierd, so it might not really have the 1.2 Rule.

 

I heard from friends of mine in the trade that they ship them over for service to Dubai, I am sure any Dubai based Ferraristis can get the low down on who these people are exactly.

As Pav said alot of them maintain homes in Dubai and Tehran, according to research close to USD 200 billion in private wealth has been transferred out of Iran in the last five years with the primary beneficiary being Dubai, alot of the high net worth are worried about the geopolitical potentialities.

I have no idea how the rules work in kish, but my cousin used to do some work on the side for the guy when he went to school down there and has seen the car up close, it has Iranian registration, none of that "movaghati" bullsh!t.

Nah, owned by two different guys. The owner of the gold one also has a CLS (Tehran daily driver) and modded Infiniti FX45 (Dubai daily driver)...He's a really nice guy too...my information might be dated though, he may have changed up the fleet since (It appears Pav might be more up to speed than me).

I also know of a purple Murcielago coupe that was in Tehran for a while, but I don't know if it was driven very much, if at all.

 

I have a lot of pictures of these Lamborghini's, lots of Mercedes & Bmws. It won't let me attach them. Anyone know, how I can delete my older attachments.

 

Well temp tags were designed so people can bypass the crazy tax rules. But then in essence, they have to have dubai tags or Iranian temp tags. Also depending on the type of contract they sign with the State's DMV, it will give them that much time to have the car in Iran. It's great for seasonal cars. Bring in all the exotics for summer. Then once comes winter time, send those back and bring in all these hardcore SUVs. Suvs have become very popular in Iran.

Brothers. Due to their privacy i won't/can't/don't want to say more about them. They have much more exotics in the family. Currently the gold murcie will be replaced by a SLR roadster with 722 kit on it.

Man there is a lot of nice cars in Iran.but there is not 04 murci roadster first year it was 05 but they are nice for them.i wish i can go and see what's up and tack my cars too.
