Look around for a great 328 or MOndial 3.2 or 308 if you want a bullet proof Ferrari. Take your time and read a lot.

Call Steve and Darrell at Sport Auto in NC. Black/black 328 there right now, 16K miles.

Good Lead - offer $10K less aNd see what they come back at - if the inspections are current, then anything between $40K- $45k is a good deal IMO.

I bought my 88 3.2 mondial for less than $40K with less THAN 20k miles 2 years ago. Prices are going up!

    Welcome to the club!

I doubt an '88 328 in good shape, with 16,000 miles, is going to go for $45K or less. I don't know the history of this car, but $50K doesn't a bad price at all. I would say go see the car, meet the Sport Auto guys, decide if it's "the one" and then make a credible offer ($39,500 on that car is not a credible offer, IMO.)

In fact I think a 308 QV with 16,000 miles in nice condition is going to go solidly over $40K now.

EDIT: Black/black '87, 27K miles. If you can live without the ABS, this is the best-looking of the 328 series, IMO (although I like tan interiors):

Since Bullfighter left out his normal "Welcome", I will chime in and say Welcome Capt. James!

I would take your time in looking as it may take some time to find the right sorted Ferrari...this depending how particular you are and your own requirements for finding the "right Ferrari for you". I would also learn to use the "search" function here on the forum as it will be very useful to you in all sorts of ways as you learn, search, find, buy and eventually drive your Ferrari.

    Good luck!

That car at Sport Auto must be my 328's brother. Mine is a red/tan GTS built in March '88, same as the black/black one.

I think $50k is a great price for that car, assuming it's all they say it is. I paid 10% more than that for mine, which probably reflects the market price difference between the color combinations and the fact that my seller paid for a major service right before delivering the car.
