Does anyone know of a dealer where I can drop a deposit and order a F430 to spec? The catch would be one that allows me to do this for MSRP. I can wait...no bid deal to me...just want to get it for MSRP. Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

Maybe one of the more remote Chinese dealerships would do it.
Wait....you mean a US dealership? Are you on crack? :)

I think you would have a better chance getting on the list for the F430 successor... which probably is already at least a couple years wait.

At the current level of demand and the change in FNA policy with reference to dealers being able to sell "at the market", a first time new Ferrari buyer (no prior purchase history with the dealer) has absolutely zero chance of getting a 430 or the 430 successor from an authorized dealer at MSRP. It's not fair and its frustrating but it's a fact.

has FNA changed its policy finally to allow the dealers to take the profit from "market" pricing?

I have tried for years to get on a waiting list for MSRP car; to no avail. Your best bet is to wait until a new model comes out, and within a year or two, the 430 will sell below MSRP. This is what has happened with the 360, I see the same happening with the 430. It is not a limited production car like the Enzo.

I remember when the 550 was commanding premiums over list. Look at the prices now. Is it less of a car now? Hardly.

Yes, though many still have years worth of contracts at MSRP. You can bet all new contracts are written "at market".

I figured as much. My friend who has purchased numerous cars from a Dealership he knows bought a car for MSRP. Guess I won't be so lucky. Blahhh. Thanks.

I am still mystified by this practice - specifically by Ferrari's allowance of it. I would think that the factory and FNA would want to share in the big windfall, rather than letting the dealers grab the premium.

Or, is there a backroom deal going on between the dealerships and the network too?

It seems to me they might just as well price these at the reasonable market level and then leave it at that - it would look less shady, IMHO.

what is the MSRP for a F430 in USA ?
waht is the actual price to pay?
how big mark up are paid in order to avoid waiting ?

I wonder why several new 430 being sold in Mexico's dealerships are destined to USA costumers.

I'm aware there aren't any waiting list.
but I suppose Mexico's prices are much higher here then USA....

dealer told my friend few years ago that they will give you a chance at the next model for msrp if you agree to buy a used version of the current one for whatever their asking price is.

in other words, they rip you off once as an entrance fee to their club.

suggested....it means the dealer can price any way he wants to, the manufacturer only suggests that price

  16. The laws of supply and deman aren't a rip-off, I'm afraid.
You act like the dealership isn't owned by a businessman. Who bought the real estate and the inventory? Santa Claus?
Any businessman, if he were smart, would buy an f-car from the dealer for MSRP and flip it for a profit if he or she could. So why can't the businessman whose business it is do it?
Wow, so many bitter folk on these boards...

Not really,FNA just decided to give their dealers as much freedom in pricing as other car makers already do.
There will still be customers (loyal, multiple buyers ,etc) who will be able to buy these cars at "sticker".

These are exactly my questions too. Maybe nobody wants to answer to avoid competition from other buyers?

Great bitterness has been caused by FNA forcing dealers to sell cars under market. Now that dealers are able to price them based on supply and demand rather than artificially low prices, the market will benefit. Wait lists will all but disappear and I think prices will actually come down more quickly with "flippers" eliminated.
